Who was Angela Kukawski ?
Detectives believe Jason Barker killed Angela “Angie” Kukawski inside the Sherman Oaks residence they shared, placed her in a car and drove to Simi Valley, Los Angeles police said.
A business manager who had worked with several high-profile celebrities, including the Kardashian-Jenner family, was found dead this week, according to the Homicide division of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Office.
Angela Kukawski, 55, had been reported missing in Sherman Oaks on Dec. 22, according to police.
She was later found dead inside her vehicle on the 1500 block of Patricia Ave in Simi Valley.
“Angela was really the best. She cared about each of us and made things happen that were impossible,” the Kardashian-Jenner family said in a statement to CNN. “We will miss her very much and send our sincere condolences to her family and loved ones during this very difficult time.”
According to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, Kukawski suffered blunt force trauma and strangulation.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
Authorities arrested Kukawski’s boyfriend, Jason Barker, 49, on suspicion of murder.
Detectives allege that Barker killed Kukawski inside her Sherman Oaks home, placed her inside her vehicle before taking her body to Simi Valley and leaving her car there.
He was booked into the Van Nuys Jail and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed murder and torture charges against him.
According to inmate intake information posted on the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department site, the bond for Barker was set at more than $ 3 million and he is currently still in custody.
Barker is scheduled to appear in court on January 12.
It is not yet known if Barker has retained an attorney.
Kukawski had reportedly worked for Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills, California, where her client roster included numerous celebrities including Nicki Minaj and Offset.
Cause of Death
The Ventura County Medical Examiner determined that Kukawski’s cause of death was acute, blunt force injuries to the head and neck and strangulation. The manner of death was declared homicide.
Kukawski worked at Boulevard Management in Woodland Hills, which specializes in accounting and financial management services for artists, athletes, and entrepreneurs. In addition to the Kardashians, he worked with Kanye West and the Tupac Shakur estate, according to government documents and previous partners.
Kukawski, a mother of five, was “loved” in the industry, according to her friends.
