Who was Emiliano Sala ?
The wife of a businessman who organized the condemned flight that crashed and killed soccer player Emiliano Sala cried in court today after being sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Emiliano Raúl Sala was an Argentine professional footballer who played as a forward. David Henderson, 67, of Hotham in the East Riding of Yorkshire, was a pilot but could not fly the plane because he was on vacation in Paris with his wife.
Instead, he hired Mr. Ibbotson, even though he did not have a commercial pilot license, he could not fly at night and had an expired rating to fly the single-engine Piper Malibu aircraft.

Defender Stephen Spence QC told the judge that his client did not necessarily benefit from the escape and that the pressure “could take many forms.”
Spence said: “People speak highly of him as a person but, curiously, as a pilot.”
But he said the accident and subsequent trial had damaged Henderson’s reputation, freeing him from his “life and livelihood.”
Henderson was said to have been affected physically and mentally by the accident and the subsequent trial, and is now taking beta-blockers for a heart condition.
“He has also had a knock-on effect on his wife, who has been in court the entire process and is in court today,” Spence said.
