Former Swedish professional golfer Fredrik Andersson Hed died of cancer at age 49, the European Tour announced.

Andersson Hed turned pro in 1992 and won twice on the Challenge Tour and once on the European Tour at the Italian Open in 2010.
The 2010 European Tour season proved to be its most successful as it peaked at 22nd in the season-ending standings thanks to a second place in the BMW PGA Championship and an additional five top ten.
Andersson Hed represented Europe
Andersson Hed represented Europe at the Royal Trophy with Colin Montgomerie, in a team that also featured compatriots Henrik Stenson, Peter Hanson and Johan Edfors, in their win against Asia in 2011.
He was also runner-up at the Scottish Open 2011 and at the Omega European Masters and the Hong Kong Open in 2012.
His best finish in a major was T50 at the 2002 Open Championship at Muirfield.
Andersson Hed retired from golf in 2015 after 358 European Tour appearances.

Death
He died of cancer in October 2021, at the age of 49.
