On Thursday, Britney Spears took to Instagram to share a number of photos.
Lounging in bed in her London hotel room, she put on an eye-catching display.
“Waking up in London with my Cabo thong,” Britney quipped.
It was a great way of not only letting us all know where she is, but also piquing everyone’s interest.
The thong did not remain on for all of the photos … but let’s start at the top. The topless. Well, the beginning.
“Not sure,” Britney wrote in another caption. “Tea or coffee?”
The United Kingdom is of course (in)famous for tea consumption. Many Brits feel scandalized by Americans without kettles.
Centuries ago, importing tea from Asia revolutionized British life. But we don’t know which drink Britney selected.
The photos were not traditional selfies, in that she was not holding her phone.
It also does not appear that hunky husband Sam Asghari was her photographer, though he so often photographs her.
Britney explained: “I held my phone up with a book and a remote control to shoot this.”
One photo was particularly eye-catching, and rendered Instagram-appropriate by a single emoji.
The beloved pop icon self-censored her backside with a flower emoji, captioning: “Heart of flower???”
Butts are allowed on Instagram, but you are not allowed to “show hole.” The flower was the right choice.
We have all seen plenty of Britney before.
Some people throw a fit when Britney posts exactly as much or little of her body on social media as she wants.
It seems that some “Free Britney” supporters cared less about her freedom than they previously claimed.
The rest of us know that Britney has had very little autonomy in her adult life.
Even when she was a minor, her managers controlled her image and marketed her in some truly nauseating ways.
Journalists asked her disgusting questions about her body. She was high school age. It was so twisted.
Britney is living her best life right now.
As we noted earlier, she and her husband, Sam Asghari, moved into a new house together.
While fans aren’t yet as familiar with the new place as they were with her previous abode, the new digs have a pool!
Britney loves the water. She loves to travel and vacation.
And yes, she likes to experiment with different poses and photos.
If some of her followers think that the pics that she posts are “spicy,” we can only imagine how they’d react to the outtakes.
We are so glad that Britney can make her own choices now.
Contrary to what some of her fans think, she does not owe her supporters anything — not “modesty” and not new music.
It is more than enough for her to live her life and find her happiness as a free woman.
