Robyn Griggs, a former Nickelodeon personality who became a well-known and respected soap opera star, died on Saturday, August 13.

She was 49 years old.

Griggs, who enjoyed roles on Another World and One Life to Live, battled endocervical adeno cancer prior to her passing.

Robyn Griggs is dead at the age of 49. Our condolences go out to her friends, family members and loved ones.

“With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing,” a statement on the Facebook page of a friend read this weekend. “However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories.”

Continued the message:

“I will never forget how open she was to telling her story and accepting of me helping her tell it.

“She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it. I was honored to do so.”

Concluded this heart-breaking tribute:

“RIP my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you.”

Days prior to her death, Griggs’ dad shared via this same Facebook page that his daughter was going to be placed in hospice care, writing:

“She has fought with determination, strength, and grace that is nothing short of inspirational.”

Griggs earned her first break in Hollywood as a child star, appearing on Nickelodeon’s Rated K… which ran from 1986 to 1988.

She was likely best known on the small screen for her recurring roles in the daytime dramas One Life to Live as Stephanie Hobart; and Another World as Maggie Cory in the 1990s.

Elsewhere, Griggs appeared in a number independent horror movies, including Severe Injuries, Dead Clowns, The Absence of Light, Hellweek and Zombiegeddon.

After going in for a standard pap smear, Griggs was diagnosed with stage IV cervical cancer in August 2020. A CT scan revealed masses in her stomach.

Just last month, the actress shared a health update, reporting that she had recently found four tumors, stating online:

“Two new tumors on my liver, one on abdominal muscle and large one on right side lymph node.”

Griigs is survived by her husband Mark Wiley, who she married in 2013.

They celebrated their ninth anniversary last month.

“Happy anniversary to the love of my life. You have been here through all of the ups and downs,” Griggs wrote in a tribute to her spouse at the time.

“Unfortunately, many downs lately. I look forward to every day you come home and watch Emergency!, Gutfeld, and whatever we can find.

“I am going to make it through and will never stop Fighting. I love you and so glad you’re here with me.”

May Robyn Griggs rest in peace.
