The patriarch had several health issues, and doctors had counseled against the high altitude, but Billy refused to change his way of life or live by anyone’s terms but his own. He passed away in his home after a seizure.

Joshua Brown is Billy and Ami’s second child, born on September 18, 1984. Joshua, known to family and fans as Bam Bam, came under heavy criticism from fans when his mother, Ami, was diagnosed with cancer in 2017.

Bam Bam wasn’t as supportive as the other children, as he’s left the show to pursue a romance with an “Alaskan Bush People” producer. Fortunately, Bam Bam reconciled with his family before his dad’s death. He was involved in a severe car accident that claimed one person’s life in May 2022.

Billy and Ami’s third son, Solomon Brown, is best known as Bear. Since Billy’s death, Bear has been the most vocal of the seven siblings, openly mourning his father’s passing. On January 17, 2022, Bear married Raiven Adams, the mother of his son River.

The couple has been through some relationship upheavals, including a breakup. They decided to try again after River was born. Bear confessed that he calls River “Little Billy lovingly” in memory of his late father.

Gabriel Starbuck Brown was born on December 15, 1989. Nicknamed Gabe, he is the fourth Brown boy, and he has admitted that the loss of his father has hit him particularly hard.

Gabe has been happily married to Raquell Brown since 2019, and the couple shares Sophie, born in November 2019, and welcomed a second baby girl in the autumn of 2021. Sadly, Billy never got to meet his second little granddaughter.

Noah Darkcloud Brown, born on July 18, 1992, is Billy and Ami’s fifth and youngest boy. Noah is following in Billy’s footsteps as a loving dad, and he and his wife Rhain share two boys.

Their oldest son, Elijah, was born in 2019, and he was Billy and Ami’s first grandchild. The family welcomed little Adam in December 2021. Adam is yet another grandchild that Billy will never get to meet and with whom he’ll never share his passion for the wilderness.

Amora Jean Snowbird Brown, nicknamed Bird by her family, was born on November 18, 1994. She is the family’s sixth child and first daughter. Bird has a lower profile than her siblings and is described as a strong young woman.

Snowbird was her mother’s rock during her cancer struggle and was described by her brothers and sisters as a “mini-mom,” stepping in to help the family deal with their troubles. The quiet, intensely private Bird is not on social media, but she is ever-present for her family in their times of need.

Billy’s youngest daughter Merry Christmas Katherine Raindrop Brown, born on November 23, 2002, is the youngest of the brood and was nineteen at the time of her father’s passing.

Known to everyone as Rain, she grew up on the screen over the show’s 15 seasons. The young woman, who has previously struggled with depression, spoke movingly about missing her father on an Instagram post. She wrote:

“I lost a true friend. Not forever, but only in this world. Please hold my family in your thoughts and prayers, especially my mother.”

Elijah, Noah’s son, was Billy and Ami’s first grandchild, followed by Bear’s son River and Gabe Brown‘s daughter Sophie. The Brown patriarch met his three eldest grandchildren, but the family has grown again since then.

Gabe and his wife stunned fans with the announcement that their daughter Sophie had a little sister in October 2021. As for Noah, he welcomed a second strapping boy, Adam. Noah amused fans by comparing his son to an orange because “he is a cutie.”
