An ex-BBC radio broadcaster named Alex Belfield is currently on trial for allegedly stalking eight people, including Jeremy Vine, a TV and radio host. He allegedly repeatedly harassed the victims over Twitter, his YouTube channel, and email.

Belfield denies eight charges of stalking that were allegedly committed between 2012 and 2021, including three counts involving two managers and a broadcaster who worked for BBC Radio Leeds.

Alex is a British journalist, radio personality, and entertainer. He began his career as a part of the Radio 106 launch crew in September 1997.

In 1999, he moved to Nairobi, Kenya, and started presenting “Belfield at Breakfast” on Capital FM, 98.4. Then he returned to the UK and, for a third time, joined Century 106 to work on the morning show. He began his career on a talk/personality radio show in September 2001, shortly after joining BBC Radio Leicester.

After 18 months, Belfield relocated to Mansfield 103.2 FM to host The Lunchtime Mega Phone-in. In February 2001, he founded Alex Belfield Productions, his own production company. More than 80 UK radio stations have played the bespoke celebrity programs that his company produces.

Belfield made his BBC Radio 2 debut in December 2011 with Jimmy Savile’s “last in-depth interview,” which was conducted at Savile’s Leeds home in February of that year. The 2011 Christmas Day interview was broadcast on television. The interview was later reproduced in the Daily Star on October 12, 2012, after the ITV Exposure program exposed Savile as a serial child molester.

Andy Williams’ final interview in the UK was likewise recorded by Belfield, and the next day, the Daily Mirror published it. Since 2012, Belfield has focused on producing and distributing material for his website Celebrity Radio. Reviews of overseas theater, travel, and dining establishments may be found on this website, along with audio and video interviews with celebrities.

Charges for Assault and the Alex Belfield Stalking of Jeremy Vine Incident are described.

In the broadcaster Alex Belfield’s court case, Jeremy Vine began by asserting that he had been the target of numerous acts of hostility.

According to the prosecution, Vine, Bernie Keith of BBC Radio Northampton, Stephanie Hirst, a former host of BBC Radio Leeds’ mid-morning show, and Stephanie Hirst were all genuinely scared or distressed by 42-year-old Belfield.

When Vine addressed the jury on Wednesday in Nottingham Crown Court, he said that the troll was not your average one but rather a top-notch one that was challenging to control. He likened it to taunting Jimmy Savile.

In his opening statement for the Crown’s case against Belfield, prosecutor John McGuinness QC said that Vine in 2020 had a “constant bombardment” of ominous tweets and YouTube videos.

Jeremy claimed that the first time he encountered Alex, he had created content that made highly inappropriate references to him. Since then, things have become worse.
