On January 5 2024, peacefully at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, held by her family, aged 52 years of Almondbury. Beloved daughter of Sue and the late Keith. Cherished mum of Laura. Well loved sister of Rachel and Adrian.

A service will be held at All Hallows Church, Almondbury on Tuesday 6 February at 1.45pm, followed by committal at Huddersfield Crematorium. Flowers can be sent to the funeral home in Lepton before 12noon on the day.

Ann Bolton (nee Chappell)

On January 18 2024 Peacefully at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary surrounded by her loving family, Annie aged 73 years of Golcar. Dearly loved wife and soul mate of Tim, a loving mum and best friend of Fiona and David, a proud and loving grandma of Faye, Autumn, Kayne and Jodie, also a super proud great-grandma, a dear sister of John and sister-in-law of Linda and a much loved aunt. Annie was a very dear and special friend to many, who will all miss her so much.

A Service to Celebrate Annie’s life will take place at Huddersfield Crematorium, Fixby on Friday February 16 2024 at 10.30am. Family flowers only please by request, donations if desired may be given to benefit the work of The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and The Meadow Court Residents Fund, for which a donation box will be placed at the Crematorium for this purpose.

On January 16, suddenly but peacefully at Calderdale Royal Hospital and of Crosland Moor aged 73 years. Much loved Husband of Karen. Dearly Loved Dad of Dean and Katie, Father in law of Kieran. Precious Grandad of Nathaniel and Olivia. Dear Brother of Leslie, Godwin, Jauana, Euclin and Anthony. Son of the late Nathaniel and Theodora Collins also a friend of many.

On January 20 2024, peacefully at Aden House Care Home, Brian aged 90 years of Meltham. Dearly loved husband of the late Irene, much loved dad of Sheryl and Neil, father in law of Robert and Sarah and a very proud grandad of Clarissa, Thomas and Emma.

Susan Cottle

On January 17 2024 Susan passed away peacefully, aged 74 years. Beloved Wife of the late Derek, loving Mum of Joanne and Darren, dear Mother-in-Law of Mark and Jane and much loved Nana of Annie, Poppy and Jessie.

Robert Arthur (Bobby) Emmett

Bobby passed away on January 20 2024, peacefully at Lindley Grange Care Home, Robert aged 80 years of Brighouse and formerly of Kirkheaton. Much loved son of the late Jack and Phyllis, devoted husband of Jean, loving dad of Paula and Julie, father in law of Mark and a dear grandad of Isla and Eliot.

On January 3 2024 peacefully in Devon and late of Golcar Jean aged 90, much loved wife of the late Ivor, dearly loved mum, grandee and great grandee of Janet, Eleanor, Evelyn and Theodore and dear mum-in-law, sister, aunt and great aunt.

A service of Thanksgiving will take place at Golcar Providence Methodist Church on Friday 2 February at 2.30 pm. No flowers please but donations if wished would be much appreciated to Alzheimer’s Society for which a donation box will be available at the Service. Breda Flaherty

Passed away peacefully at Sandy Mount on the January 9 2024 aged 81 Years. Loving wife to the late Joe Flaherty. Loving Mother, Grandma and Great Grandma. Reception into Our Lady of Lourdes will take place on Wednesday 14th February at 7pm followed by requiem mass on Thursday 15th February at 12 noon, after which she will be laid to rest at Almondbury Cemetery.

Peacefully at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on the 16th of January, aged 87 years. Beloved wife of Barry, much loved by close and extended family. She will be very sadly missed by all who knew her.

Marshall Leroy (Teacher) George

Teacher Passed away peacefully at the Aden Court Care Home, on the January 6 2024, aged 92 years, Marshall, formerly of Dalton, the beloved husband of the late Olga, loving dad of Godson, Brenda, Martin, Roger, Rodney, Donna and the late Godfrey, proud grandad, great grandad and a good friend to many.

Funeral service will be held at Christ Church, Moldgreen at 11.30 on Wednesday January 31 followed by interment at the Hey Lane Cemetery, Castle Hill.

Peacefully, at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on 13th January, aged 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Graham, much loved mum of Amanda and the late Nicholas, mother-in-law of John and a treasured grandma of Charlotte and Holly.

Suddenly at home on Monday January 15 2024. Sylvia, aged 86 years of Milnsbridge. Beloved wife of Patrick, and the late Billy. Much loved and devoted mum of Steven, Dawn, Paul, Rachel and step daughter Andrea. Mum in law of Howard. Treasured grandma of Michelle, Nicola, Megan, Oli, Laura and Adam. Great grandma of Mollie. Cherished sister of the late Jean and Joyce. Sylvia was dearly loved by all her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Tony, formerly of Birkby, Almondbury and Fenay Bridge (Huddersfield), latterly of Ripon, passed peacefully at Berwick Grange Care Home in Harrogate. A former pupil of King James School, he leaves two children and three grandchildren. Funeral at Stonefall Chapel, Wetherby Road, Harrogate on Tuesday 6th February at 1pm.

Trevor Hirst

On January 4 2024 aged 63 years, a much loved dad and grandad. Will friends please meet for service at Huddersfield Crematorium on Tuesday 6th February 2024 at 2pm. Family flowers only please but donations would be appreciated for The Stroke Association which maybe left as you leave the service.

Peacefully at home on Wednesday January 10 2024. Jerry, aged 84 years of Holmbridge, Holmfirth. Dearly loved partner of Monika, much loved dad of Michael. On January 22 2024, suddenly, John aged 57 years of Honley. The dearly loved son of Ricky and the late Mavis, much loved brother of Joanne, Tracey and Elizabeth, a loving uncle and a very good friend to many.

Rohan McAndrew

Following a long illness, surrounded by his family on January 10 2024 at Kirkwood Hospice. Rohan aged 60 years of Birstall. Much loved husband of Abigail, loving dad to Bethan, Niamh & Orla, special father in law of Jonny, cherished grandad of Maddie, Elijah & Tobias, a dear son in law, brother, brother in law & uncle also a great friend to many.

A service to celebrate Rohan’s life will be held at 12pm at St. Paul of the Cross RC church, Cleckheaton on Wednesday 31st January followed by committal service at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium at 1:15pm. Peacefully on Friday January 12 2024, aged 91 years. Cherished wife of the late Stefan, loving mother to Juliet and stepmother to Michael, devoted grandma to Joseph, Oliver and Claire, Emma and a proud great-grandma to Olivia.

Andrew Neil Oldham

Peacefully with his kids on Wednesday January 17 2024 aged 60 years. A proud dad and best friend to Becky and Luke, a cherished son of Joan and a beloved brother to Gary, he will be sadly missed. The cortege will be leaving the Aspley Marina at 10.00am.

On January 5 2024. Passed away peacefully at Sandhurst Court aged 56 years formerly from Gledholt. Martha much loved daughter of Catherine and the late Charles Quashie. Beloved Sister to Kathleen, Christine, Lenora and Selwyn and the Late Fitzroy, also a loved sister in law, and niece to many.

Dorothy Saville (Chillingsworth)

Dorothy Saville (nee Chillingsworth) daughter of Walter and Dolly, sister of Gwen, Brenda and Geoff, sadly passed away on 22nd January 2024, at her home in Marple, with her family beside her, aged 90.

Rosaleen Smith (Philomena)

It is with great sadness we announce that Rosaleen (Philomena) Smith passed peacefully at home Wednesday January 17. She was the beloved mother of four daughters and a son, Jennifer, Tracey, Dawn, Natasha and Sean. Adored nana of eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Rosaleen was a rare and precious gem who loved her family fiercely and will be deeply missed. She joins her husband Raymond (Gerald) Smith and her son Sean in heaven. Please join us to mourn her passing and celebrate her life.

A vigil will be held Tuesday February 6 at 6:00pm followed by the funeral held 1pm on Wednesday February 7 at Holy Family Church Slaithwaite and burial at Edgerton Cemetery. Passed away on January 16 2024 peacefully at Calderdale Hospital, aged 79 years. Beloved partner of Anne, step-dad to Lindsay and Stephen, grampa to Jessica, Christian and Steven, father-in-law to Lisa and Mike and friend to many.

Ryan (Uriah aka Patrick) Trew

Patrick Passed away peacefully at the Kirkwood Hospice, on the December 31 2023, aged 60 years. Ryan, Uriah aka Patrick of Birkby, a much loved father of nine children, Special Guardian to three, proud grandfather of 16, a loving brother, uncle and good friend to many.

A celebration of his life will be held at St John’s Church, Birkby, HD1 5EA at 11.30 am, on Friday February 2 2024, followed by interment at the Hey Lane Cemetery, Castle Hill, HD4 6TX.

Geoffrey (Geoff) Williams

Geoff died sadly, and unexpected at his home in Emley on Dec 19 2023, aged 67. A gentle, loving dad, lovely brother, popular uncle, cousin and friend who will be sorely missed. His funeral will be held on Monday January 29 2024 at 2pm.
