Even though her father is a famous Hollywood star, Annie Costner prefers to live a low-key life away from the public spotlight. However, she occasionally appears at public events with her father, Kevin Costner.

Despite his busy schedule, Annie’s father always created time for his children. Annie said her father preferred to spend his free time hanging out with her and her siblings rather than with other Hollywood stars.

As much as Annie lives a private life, she sometimes accompanies her father on red-carpet events. For instance, in 2013, Annie, her sister, and her stepmother joined her father at the premiere of “Man of Steel” in New York.

Annie’s Parents Are No Longer Together

Annie Costner was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 15, 1984. Her parents, Kevin and Cindy Costner named her Annie Clayton Costner—she is the second born in a family of seven.

Annie’s parents met in the 1970s while in college. They were both enrolled at California State University and had a passion for acting. Back then, Annie’s father was still struggling with creating a name for himself in Hollywood, but her mother had already started getting roles in Disneyland during the summer holidays.

The duo graduated in 1978 and got married the same year. Six years later, they welcomed their first child, Annie. After two years, her parents welcomed their second child, Lily Costner, in 1986. Later, in 1988, they gave birth to their son, Joe Costner.

After 16 years of marriage, Annie’s parents announced through a joint statement that they were getting divorced. The report read:

“After 16 years together, we are ending our marriage. We have amicably resolved all issues regarding our children and financial affairs, and a full marital settlement has been reached.”

Even though Annie’s parents divorced, her father did everything to give her a memorable childhood. For example, Annie said her father taught her to play football and baseball better than most boys.

After Annie’s parents divorced, her father remarried designer Christine Baumgartner in September 2004.

Also, on Annie’s 16th birthday, her father surprised her with an Elvis suit costume and performed a song for her and her friends.

Annie Had Some Acting Experience in Her Younger Years

When Annie was young, she followed in her dad’s footsteps into the acting industry. She played Christine in the 1990 drama film “Dance with Wolves” alongside her father, who played Lieutenant Dunbar.

Some of her other acting credits include the short film “Lazy Teenage Superheroes,” the comedy-drama “The Baby-Sitters Club,” and “The Postman.”

Annie graduated from Brown University in Rhode Island. After finishing college, she did a lot of legislation work, including writing environmental laws.

Annie later co-founded Sound Off films in 2014, a production company focused on documentary and non-fiction storytelling.

Annie and Adrienne Hall are the founders of the company. The two met when Annie was working on the documentary “Racing Extinction,” which tells the story of environmental activism.

Through Sound Off films, Kevin Costner’s daughter has produced several documentaries, including “The Pittsburgh Drug Trials” and singer Katy Perry’s “Witness Tour,” among others.

Annie Got Married on Her Father’s Property

Annie Costner tied the knot with California-based doctor Danny Cox in 2016 in a colorful outdoor wedding ceremony attended by family and friends. The occasion occurred at Annie’s father’s private property in California.

As she walked down the aisle, Kevin Costner’s daughter, elegantly dressed in a Vicenta gown from Atelier Pronovias’ 2016 collection, captured many people’s attention. At the same time, the groom was stylishly dressed in a navy blue suit.

Annie Is the Oldest of Her Father’s Children

Annie is one of three older children of her father, but she has more younger siblings. After Annie’s parents divorced, her father remarried designer Christine Baumgartner in September 2004.

The couple share three children: Cayden Wyatt, Logan Hayes, and Grace Avery. Annie also has a younger brother, Liam, whom her father shares with his former girlfriend, Bridget Rooney.
