The Great British Bake Off viewers spotted a strange issue with Alison Hammond’s absence on Tuesday night.
The bubbly Brummie presenter has been fronting the 2023 series after Matt Lucas left the show and has been a hit with viewers of the Channel 4 baking contest.
This week, the semi final sees the four remaining bakers – Matty, Dan, Tasha and Josh – take on the challenging Patisserie week.

The signature sees them taking on an elegant French patisserie, while the technical is a butter based classic before a showstopper of an Italian celebration cake.
But in an announcement at the start of the episode, Noel Fielding told viewers that Allison was missing from the episode due to feeling ‘under the weather’.
It meant that Noel had to take on all the presenting duties for the pressure cooker semi final.
Fans of the show said it was odd, though, that Alison was still in the episode as a voiceover to the action.
