Like many actors in the movie industry, Jeremy Jackson started his career as a child actor in Hollywood. The actor, born in Newport Beach, California, started his entertainment career at the tender age of six, starring in a Mattel commercial.

Just four years later, at age ten, young Jackson landed a role in the critically acclaimed series “Baywatch.” The young actor portrayed the character Hobie Buchanan, the on-screen son of actor David Hasselhoff.

Some stars who starred in the series include Pamela Anderson, Yasmine Bleeth, and Donna D’ Errico. Jackson starred in “Baywatch” from 1991 to 1999 and, for his performance, made over $2 to $3 million. Sadly after the series ended, Jackson fell into the same trap most child actors often fall into; drugs and women.

Jackson had a challenging childhood; a single mom raised him, and he never got to know his father. The actor’s father was a drug addict, and that was why his mother took the sole responsibility of raising him by herself.

Things started looking good for the family when Jackson landed a role in “Baywatch” which he starred in for nine years. However, even before the series ended, Jackson had been silently following the same destructive part his father did.

The actor started developing an addiction to drugs during his teenage years while still filming “Baywatch.” With the amount of money he was making from the series, Jackson had the financial ability to buy all the drugs he wanted.

Also, the people he kept as friends at the time were not giving him the best and strong advice he needed. Jackson noted:

“I had the means to destroy myself: I had a lot of money, and I had a lot of people around me that weren’t really my friends but I thought they were, and I totally got sucked into a downward spiral of a lifestyle.”

At the time, his TV dad Hasselhoff confronted him about his drug use. The veteran asked if he was smoking pot, but unknown to him Jackson was taking harder drugs like ecstasy and speed.

Not long afterward, Jackson suddenly left “Baywatch.” His fame had gotten into his head, and he felt he was better than the show. Sadly his drug use soon led to a run-in with the law.

As Jackson grew older, his drug addiction evolved from marijuana to harder drugs. After he started using crystal meth, the actor found means of learning how to cook the drug to support his habit from some scary gang members who were willing to teach him.

The actor was only 19 years old when he was arrested by police officers while leaving a residence with two duffel bags containing everything he needed to cook crystal meth.

His drug use had taken a significant toll on him, and he had lots of scabs and sores on his face. Jackson also looked very skinny and pale, but his physical conditions were far from his mind. Jackson’s charges for manufacturing meth were mandatory seven years in prison which could be bumped up to 35 years.

Luckily for him, the manufacturing charges were dropped, and he only went to jail for 90 days after he was charged with possession with intent to sell. After getting out of jail, he was admitted into a rehab center for the fifth time.

STEROID ADDICTION

In the subsequent years, the actor looked to have left his dirty past behind him. But then, he started working on getting back to his best self. Jackson, in 2009, starred in VH1’s “Confessions of a Teen Idol,” a reality series that follows seven former teen stars on their redemption journey.

Sadly his attempts to revive his acting career soon turned Jackson towards another addiction. This time around, the actor became obsessed with bodybuilding and fitness.

He wanted to be the next Sylvester Stallone but was unwilling to put the work in. After following the routine of gym, trainers, and acting class without the kind of results he wanted, Jackson turned to steroids.

Jackson spent at least $200,000 on steroids, pills, and injections in three years. He started taking human growth hormone injections meant for people with AIDS. Thankfully he stopped after a while when he could not bear it anymore.

STABBING ARRESTS

Jackson’s run-in with the law became news again when he was arrested in April 2015 for allegedly stabbing a man in Westlake, California. The former teen star was subsequently charged with assault with a deadly weapon and was released on bail a couple of hours later.

Jackson claimed the man was trying to rob him, and he had stabbed the man in self-defense. After that, the charges were dropped. However, four months later, he was arrested again for another stabbing-related incident.

This time, a woman claimed Jackson stabbed her in the back, arm, and leg after an altercation about her boyfriend’s car. Jackson was subsequently charged with assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats.

A month later, he was released from jail on bond and then checked into a rehabilitation center the same day. After that, Jackson accepted a no-contest plea deal for stabbing the woman, which attracted a 270-day jail sentence and five years probation.

Based on recent picture evidence from his social media, Jackson looks to have finally overcome his demons. The former teen star has turned into a bearded 41-year-old and wears his hair in a shaven mohawk. Jackson now works as a personal trainer.

His TV father “Hasselhoff” recently celebrated his 70th birthday with a lavish party where he reunited with his “Baywatch” co-stars. Some people spotted at the event included Kelly Packard, David Chokachi, Parker Stevenson, and Jackson.

After his countless battles with addiction and jail time, it was good to see Jackson looking good as he reunited with the people he worked with as a child star.
