BBC Celebrity Race Across The World star Harry Judd’s mum Emma has responded to concerns from fans about the pair of them on the series which just came to a dramatic end.
The McFly drummer took on the all-star race against three other celebrities and their family members on the BBC One reality show. Harry was up against race driver Billy Monger, All Saints singer Mel Blatt and weatherman Alex Beresford in the battle to get from Morocco to Norway on the budget of a plane ticket using public transport.
But there were several scenes throughout the series which saw Harry pushing his elderly mother to move faster and travel for longer in a bid to win, prompting some concerns from viewers.

Today, Harry’s mum posted a video on Harry Judd’s account where she responded to the concerns from fans.
She said: “Hi everyone. It’s Emma here. I’ve been hearing from Harry about all the wonderful messages he’s been getting on Twitter and Instagram about Race Across The World.
“And I wanted to step in and say as well.
“A big huge thankyou for all your kind messages of support it really is appreciated. We had a wonderful time on the trip and obviously some of the bits are better in retrospect. What a challenge.
“I loved my time with Harry and I urge you to give your parents time, they will really appreciate it. Family is everything. This trip has given me renewed energy, vigour and confidence and I’m ready to go forwards now with more adventures.
“Once again, a huge thankyou.”

Viewers were thrilled about Harry’s mum’s involvement in the series and now some are even calling for her to get her own spinoff show.

The final episode of the celebrity series then saw the remaining couples, McFly drummer Harry Judd and his mum, TV weatherman Alex Beresford and his dad Noel and All Saints singer Mel Blatt and her mum all race from Berlin, where the penultimate checkpoint was, to Tromso in Norway.
The three remaining pairs had to race to the Fjelheissen cable car observation deck and base station in Tromso in Norway at the foot of a mountain.
There were tense scenes as Harry and his mum rushed up the hill while Alex Beresford and his dad and Mel and her mum all battled to make it to the cable cars before their competitors.

Lots of people though said they loved the celebrity series and it was the ‘exception’ because it’s ‘just as good as the normal series’, even though there had been some grumbles about the all-star cast when the series first began.
