On Saturday, May 14, Britney Spears took to her Instagram account to share heartbreaking news about her pregnancy with her fans. “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” Spears wrote, adding that she and her partner, Sam Asghari, wanted to wait until they were a little further along in the pregnancy before announcing their news to the world, but were just too excited about it to begin with. Despite their miscarriage, Spears hinted that she and Asghari still have plans to get pregnant again. She also added in the caption of her post, “We are grateful for what we have in the process of expanding our beautiful family. Thank you for your support.”
Needless to say, it didn’t take very long for Spears’ fans to show both their love and support and in some cases, a little bit of protection from her online trolls. Some comments on Twitter included, “If anyone gives Britney Spears a hard time after losing her baby I swear to god there’s a special place in hell for them… nobody deserves to suffer from a miscarriage,” along with, “Britney Spears deserves a … break from all the pain in the world.” Well said, indeed.
