In a past Hallmark Channel video, the actress revealed her favorite Thanksgiving tradition was the gingerbread house decorating contest. However, before celebrating the holiday, the star had to defend her religious beliefs.

Why Did Candace Have to Defend Her Beliefs?

Days before Thanksgiving, Candace had an interview with WSJ where she noted how Hallmark “basically is a completely different” from when she began because it changed leadership. The “Fuller House” star also made implications against the Great American Family network.

She said the network wouldn’t be making the same push for diverse content as Hallmark because “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.” After the piece was published, Hilarie Burton Morgan criticized her on social media.

Candace [Cameron Bure] also said she loved those attacking her online for her values.

Burton Morgan, a “One Tree Hill” alum, also called out Bill Abbott, Hallmark’s former CEO and the Great American Family network’s current co-founder with Candace. The actress felt people were just openly admitting to their bigotry.

She said she’d called out such behavior years before when Abbott was still at Hallmark and was glad the network had dumped him. Burton Morgan noted how being a part of the LGBTQ+ community wasn’t a trend.

She said Abbott and his network were “disgusting,” including Candace, and shared how there was nothing untraditional about same-sex couples. Velir’s wife defended her religious beliefs in an Instagram post.

“I am a devoted Christian. Which means that I believe that every human being bears the image of God. Because of that, I am called to love all people, and I do.”
