Carmelo Anthony Never Publicly Recognized His Daughter

Carmelo’s alleged daughter, Genesis, was born in August 2017 to his reported mistress, Mia Burk. She recently celebrated her fifth birthday and had the athlete in attendance.

Burk, a Saint Augustine’s University graduate, is raising Genesis singlehandedly. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences in Biology and Public Health. Burk later pursued a Master’s degree in Health Communication from the prestigious Northwestern University.

Trying to make ends meet, Burk works as the Director of Special Projects for six ReGeneration schools in Chicago. She is also a hands-on mother to her daughter, Genesis.

Mia Burk’s Identity Was a Secret at First

The rumors of Carmelo’s infidelity began in 2017 when a woman claimed to be pregnant with his child. An insider said:

“Carmelo cheated on La La, which was the catalyst of many of their troubles. Then, the last few months, all the rumors he was being traded didn’t help matters, wither. One thing after the next piled on, and that was why they separated.”

Chicago socialite and personal assistant Anthony Jacobs claimed that he knew the truth behind Carmelo’s mistress, Burk. She and the athlete met at Chicago’s Room Seven club, the location of Carmelo’s NBA draft press conference.

It appears that he was also present at her Coachella-themed birthday party held at home, together with family and friends. Notably, Genesis also appeared in his Chicago game.

“She’s not a stripper,” Jacobs said. “She works in education setting up programs.” Although Jacobs and Burk are no longer friends, she defended her by claiming that her intention was not to destroy Carmelo’s family. “She doesn’t know how to get money from guys,” he said.

People Compare Genesis to Carmelo

Parenting is not exactly a walk in the park, but it gets even worse when one of the parents is not fully committed to raising the child.

This applies to Burk, whose alleged father of her child is not entirely in the picture. When asked about co-parenting, Burk gave a one-word answer – patience.

Her response to the co-parenting question indicates that Anthony might have had a change of heart. The basketball star seems to be taking baby steps as he is not likely to tell the world he fathered Genesis anytime soon.

Nevertheless, the resemblance between Carmelo and Genesis is undeniable. Fans previously pointed out their physical similarities in Burk’s Instagram post.

Alongside a beautiful portrait of her daughter in a studio, fans commented that Genesis looks much like her dad. “She has her father’s entire face!” one person said. “He better not miss out on these moments. They’re non refundable!”

It seems that Carmelo is getting closer to Genesis after several years. Fans alleged he spent time with her during her birthday after spotting the same chain necklace on a man beside Genesis. A photo of the unidentified man was shared on Burk’s Instagram.

Carmelo is a father to Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, who he welcomed on March 7, 2007, with La La. Kiyan received his education at Christ the King Regional High School in Queens, New York.

Like his father, Kiyan hopes to become a basketball player and often shares photos and videos of him on the court on Instagram for his nearly half a million followers.

His parents were engaged three years before he was born and tied the knot with him in the picture. In 2013, rumors about their alleged separation circulated the media amidst marital problems. However, it seemed that all was good between them by 2015.

Eventually, the pair separated in 2017 amidst reports of Carmelo’s infidelity. Admittedly, La La went through a difficult time during their split. “I was bad because it was public. I was bad because other people were involved. I was bad because there were allegations. It got bad,” she said.

She also revealed that she did not enter a marriage, expecting that things would turn out for the worst. It wasn’t until 2021 that La La Anthony officially filed for divorce.

Insiders claim that the divorce was a mutual decision and that the former couple remains friends. They are also prioritizing the well-being of their son, Kiyan, among all else.
