Michael Douglas, and his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, held a united front in support of their daughter Carys’ first debut at the Cannes film festival.

Douglas kept it classic with a black tuxedo, but his two dates made a fashion statement. Starting with the 20-year-old who wore a lace gown with dropped neckline, an open back, and delicate lace finishes. She kept her hair in a bun to allow the dress to shine and accessorized with long jeweled earnings.

On the other hand, her mother brought more color to the carpet. She stunned with a low plunging red gown with a cape only covering one shoulder. She let her brunette hair down and kept the jewelry minimal with dangling earrings and statement rings.

This was also a special night for Douglas as he was being presented with an honorary award, a Palme d’Or to celebrate his career. The film festival also screened an unreleased documentary about his life, “Michael Douglas, The Prodigal Son.”

Douglas walked with both his girls in his arms. But Carys’ brothers Dylan and the actor’s eldest son Cameron, whom the actor had during his first marriage with Diandra Luker, were absent.

Although Zeta-Jones’ outfit screamed all things sexy and elegant, it received mixed reviews on social media. Fans thought the 20-year-old aspiring musician looked terrific but thought her mother was too old for her plunging neckline.

The comments section had people saying Zeta-Jones needed to cover up and that she was yet another celebrity that wanted to look sexy when there could have been better and more appropriate outfits for her.

However, the couple found their way back to each other. Douglas appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show” and spoke about the temporary split.

The actor admitted that the pressure of Hollywood got to them, but just like most couples, they had a few problems they needed to attend to.

However, it took both of them working on their relationship for it to be stronger than ever. Their deep love for one another also made it easy to better their union.

Despite the 25-year gap, the couple shares much in common, including a birthday date. They love spending time walking around the golf course, and the age difference has never been a problem.

In fact, when people used to tell Zeta-Jones that by the time she hit 50, Douglas would be 75, she simply said, ‘Well, that is just maths.”
