Charles Jordan is Wynonna Judd’s biological father, but he was never present in her life. So, Wynnona grew up knowing another man as her father and only found out about her biological father when she was 30.

Jordan and Naomi Judd had a relationship when they were both young. But when Naomi became pregnant with Wynonna, Jordan abandoned her and left her to care for the kid. Afraid of raising a child alone, Naomi married another man, and Jordan’s daughter took after the man’s surname, and she grew up knowing he was her father.

Jordan’s daughter only learned about her biological father when she became an adult. Naomi had kept it a secret for a long time and only wanted Wynonna to come of age to tell her about who her birth father was.

After learning about her father’s existence, Jordan’s daughter began looking for her father, and after a long search, she finally located him. Unfortunately, their union never materialized as Jordan died from a heart attack a month before their meet-up.

Years after Charles Jordan died, his daughter was able to dig deeper into his story and found out he had another child. Jordan’s daughter discovered she was three years older than her half-sibling. The two reconnected in their 50s through a phone call, but it’s unclear if they ever met in person.

Jordan and his ex-girlfriend, Naomi, were expecting a child when she was only 18. Naomi gave birth to Wynonna Judd in 1964, but Jordan left her to care for the baby. In fear of raising her daughter alone, Naomi quickly married another man named Michael Ciminella and gave birth to her second child Ashley Judd.

But their troublesome marriage didn’t last; after four years, the pair divorced, and Naomi was left alone to care for her two daughters. As a single parent, Naomi struggled to raise her girls with her paycheck as a nurse before she took up a career as a singer.

After [Naomi’s] death, her family released an official statement saying that the singer was undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder and PTSD.

Based on reports, they wore second-hand clothes and periodically lived without electricity in a remote town in Kentucky. Because of Jorndan’s absence from his daughter’s life, she took after her mom’s ex-husband’s name, which only lasted a few years.

After Naomi and Ciminella divorced in 1972, Wynonna Judd stopped using the surname and reverted to using Judd. For most of Jordan’s daughter’s life, she knew she shared the same father as her sister. It wasn’t until she turned 30 that Jordan’s daughter discovered she and her sister had different fathers after her mother told her.

When Jordan’s daughter became an adult, she felt like a part of her life wasn’t complete and needed answers. Pregnant at the time, Jordan’s daughter thought of searching for her biological father and eventually located him. Unfortunately, the two didn’t get a chance to meet, as Jordan passed a month before their reunion.

Jordan, born on January 2, 1945, died from a heart attack on August 10, 2000. He passed on at his home in Louisa, Kentucky, aged 56 and was buried at Pine Hill cemetery.

Charles Jordan Had a Son Who Reconnected with Wynonna

In 2020, Jordan’s daughter discovered she had a half-brother from her dad’s side. In an interview, Jordan’s daughter stated that she learned about her brother’s existence and that the two siblings were only three years apart.

Even though she didn’t get a chance to interact with her biological dad, Jordan’s daughter has learned more about her family’s story. Her half-brother, Michael, is her father’s son with a different woman.

The two siblings reunited via phone call. Wynonna said she called Michael on his birthday. Although Jordan’s daughter didn’t give details of how her brother reacted to her phone call and if the two met in person.

More than two decades after Jordan’s demise, his ex-lover Naomi also passed away aged 76, just a day before her induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Her death was a big shock to many of her fans, who loved and enjoyed her music.

An autopsy report shared with Associated Press revealed that the country music singer died by suicide. The report indicated that Naomi had died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in her home in Tennessee. Other reports also indicated that Naomi battled mental illness for a long time.

After her death, her family released an official statement saying that the singer was undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder and PTSD. Despite being abandoned to raise her two daughters, Naomi Judd did her best to give her girls a fantastic life.

She provided for them and ensured they never lacked. The five-time Grammy award-winning singer will be greatly remembered for her hits songs such as “Grandpa,” “Why Not Me,” and “Young Love,” among others.
