The eldest Leclerc also showed some promise in karting, but budget restrictions kept him from taking the sport further. He is, however, very involved in the sport through his brothers.

Charles Leclerc’s Relationship with His Siblings

The Leclerc brothers lost their father, Hervé Leclerc, to an illness in 2017. The former Formula 3 driver greatly impacted the Ferrari driver’s career. Charles shared in mid-2023 how his siblings have taken on this role:

“My father was this figure for a very, very long time. Since then, my older brother is the person I refer to the most, and my younger brother as he is becoming older.”

Charles ended 2021 by posting a photo with his “two champions.” “Can’t be more proud of them,” he wrote of his brothers, “not only how they became as drivers but how they became as men.” While they do not talk much about racing, the trio talks shop when playing F1 games.

Upon completing his studies, he worked as a financial controller and later as an adviser. The eldest Leclerc sibling holds down three positions as co-founder and CEO of All TIME, managing director of Square Capital, and director of APEX S.A.R.L.

Though he does not like the term, he is Arthur’s manager to a “certain extent,” accompanying him to all his races. He admits to getting very nervous when at either of his brothers’ races:

“I’m living the thing 200%!”

Charles Leclerc Has Big Hopes for Arthur Leclerc

Born October 14, 2000, Arthur has “speed in his blood,” according to Charles. He raced single-seaters in 2018 in the French F4 championship and has gradually moved up to where he is in the Ferrari Driver Academy and racing in the F2.

“I’m 10 times more stressed whenever it’s him racing compared to when I am racing because when I have the helmet on, I don’t think about the danger of the sport,” Charles said.

Charles Leclerc is “just very, very happy” to see his little brother faring so well and hopes he will join him in F1, acknowledging that “it’s still a long way to go.” The brothers are often seen at events unrelated to their sport.

Having moved through the divisions almost yearly, Arthur has had to adjust his driving style a lot, but he said he likes to “push the engines.” Outside of motorsports, Arthur plays piano and plans to take up tennis which he enjoys watching.
