In his recent interview, the actor discussed what it was like to work as an actor. He also shared an unusual incident that made the audience crack up.

During the interview, Jimmy Kimmel joked about Highmore’s email, stating that the actor was looking forward to seeing him. Responding to the host, Highmore praised the backstage area before revealing what happened with him backstage at another show.

Without taking names, Highmore said he was invited to a show where the host did not “like seeing guests beforehand.” He was with the producers backstage when they saw the host over there.

Recalling the incident, Highmore revealed the producers were “really, really scared,” so they decided to hide him from the host. He added:

“They grabbed me, and they threw me into the next door that was right by the hallway, and it was a broom closet.”

Highmore recalled staying inside the dark space for about a minute before the producers opened the door for him. They ensured the host was not there when Highmore left the closet.

In the same interview, Kimmel talked about a ring on Highmore’s finger, hinting at a topic the actor hadn’t discussed―his marriage. Highmore revealed what he feels about his life after tying the knot.

When Kimmel talked about Highmore’s wedding ring, the actor said people often ask him if he was married upon seeing his ring. “I figured I should clarify it,” Highmore said.

Highmore described his wife as a “wonderful woman” and said he was delighted with his decision. However, the term “married man” sounded too old to him, and he revealed that he did not like saying “my wife” while referring to his partner.

According to sources, his wife, Klarissa Munz, is a British woman who works as a web developer. Highmore reportedly knew her while studying at the University of Cambridge, but they met while the actor worked in the TV show, “Bates Motel.”

Munz is not in the spotlight, and her husband did not name her during his interview with Kimmel. He only shared how happy he felt about being married to her while he was still adjusting to his new married life. However, this isn’t the only relationship he feels proud of.

While shooting for “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Highmore met Johnny Depp as his costar, unaware they would develop a long-lasting bond. According to sources, Depp recommended Highmore for Charlie’s role when the director, Tim Burton, couldn’t find a suitable child actor.

Highmore has nothing but good words to say about his costar, Depp. Besides Tim Burton’s film, they have also worked together on “Finding Neverland.” The then-child star recalled:

“When I first worked with Johnny on ‘Finding Neverland,’ I was only about nine, and he was just a nice man to me, not a Hollywood star.”

Highmore added that he meets the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star whenever they are in the same country. He said Depp was “one of the nicest people I’ve ever met.”

Besides Depp, Highmore has also worked with Helena Bonham Carter on multiple projects, building a precious bond with her. Carter played the role of Highmore’s mother in multiple movies, including “Women Talking Dirty,” Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” and “Toast.”
