Kenneth and Faye, who were married for 72 years, went viral in 2022 when their granddaughter, Jalee, began to share videos of them on TikTok. Their sweet love captured people’s hearts worldwide, making netizens believe in the power of true love.

In one of the videos Jalee shared, 93-year-old Faye could be seen sitting on her husband’s lap and warmly embracing him. She tells him she loves him, and Kenneth replies, “I Love you, baby. My love has never failed you.” Then, Faye tells her husband that she loves sitting on his lap.

The older man seemed to have no problem with that, as he jokingly responded that if he got tired, he would push her to the floor. After the video was shared, it went viral with almost nine million views, and that was when Jalee decided that it was time to give her followers more heartwarming videos of her grandparents.

showed Faye sitting and stretching and wiggling her hands out towards her husband, who walked towards her, asking for a kiss. The grandmother seemed excited about her husband’s request for a kiss and asked for a hug too.

Kenneth obliged, noting that “a hug goes with a kiss.” He bent over, hugged his wife, and kissed her before walking away. It was indeed an amazing sight, which left fans gushing about their romance in the comments section.

THE SECRET TO THE COUPLE’S HAPPY MARRIAGE

With love as beautiful as theirs, many wondered about the secret to their long-lasting marriage. During an interview with Good Morning America, the couple opened up about how they managed to remain together for that long.

According to Faye, Kenneth was handsome and sang and played the guitar, which was very romantic. Then, she talked about how showing physical affection helped as well. Faye said:

“Every time I got low and was feeling bad, I went and said, ‘I need a hug, I need a kiss. And he obliged.”

Furthermore, Faye knew allowing unresolved issues to linger was not an option. Whenever she and Kenneth had a problem, they always talked it out, which her husband confirmed. According to Kenneth:

“We never even talked about getting rid of each other. It was always the other way around, sticking together.”

Kenneth’s words could not have been truer as Faye also noted that she never thought about divorce. On April 20, 2022, Jalee shared another video of Faye and Kenneth showing their love for each other. This time, the former went to visit her husband in the hospital.

Faye was pushed in a wheelchair into Kenneth’s hospital room, and as soon as the couple saw each other, it was like they had been apart for years. Meanwhile, they hadn’t seen each other in only eight or nine days.

Jalee revealed that the couple had been apart because Kenneth needed emergency surgery, but from the video, he appeared to be recovering very well. She also mentioned that Faye had suffered a fall, which caused her facial bruises, as seen in the clip, but she was okay.

However, Jalee mentioned that her grandmother’s dementia had worsened, and her medication needed to be adjusted. A few months later, on July 1, 2022, Jalee left TikTok fans heartbroken when she revealed that Faye had passed away the previous week.

She shared a beautiful slideshow showing moments from Faye’s funeral, as well as memorable throwback pictures and videos of her grandparents’ fun moments. Jalee added in the caption:

“Our hearts are broken, but we know meemaw and Gary [Jalee’s stepfather] are at peace. Thank you for all the continued love, and thank you to my nephew for singing this beautiful song at their memorial.”
