Former Doctor Who actor David Tennant has been set as the host of the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards, which take place February 18 at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London.
Tennant takes over from Saltburn actor Richard E. Grant, who hosted last year’s edition, the first held at Royal Festival Hall.
Tennant is best known for his acclaimed run as Doctor Who. His other prominent credits include Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Good Omens and Broadchurch. His stage credits include Much Ado About Nothing, Richard II, Hamlet and, most recently, Macbeth.
The longlists for all 24 BAFTA categories — including Best Film, Director, Cinematography, Casting, Documentary, and Film Not in the English Language — will be announced later Friday. The final nominations will be announced via livestream by former EE Rising Star Award nominees Naomi Ackie and Kingsley Ben-Adir on January 18. The EE Rising Star nominations will be announced January 10.
