Destin Christopher Tucker is Chris Tucker’s son who followed in his footsteps in the entertainment industry. Destin graduated from a school many known entertainers came from, including Denzel Washington and Stevie Wonder.

Chris Tucker tasted Hollywood fame as an actor and comedian for several years and, at one point, became among the most sought-after stars in the industry.

He is remembered for starring in “The Fifth Element” and the “Rush Hour” film franchises. However, his greatest pride and joy is his son, Destin Christopher Tucker, who takes after his father’s love for filmmaking.

Destin Christopher Tucker Was Born at the Height of His Father’s Career

Destin was born on October 13, 1998, the same year Chris’ most famous film, “Rush Hour,” was released. Then at the height of his fame, Destin’s dad had to navigate fatherhood while building his career.

Destin’s father landed a significant contract the following year, signing a $45 million deal to star in “Rush Hour 2” and “Rush Hour 3.” Despite being busy at work, Chris shares a great relationship with Destin. The actor even paid tribute to his son on his birthday in 2022.

Meanwhile, Destin’s mother, casting director Azja Pryor, leads a relatively private life. Information about her relationship with Chris varies from one source to another.

According to People, Chris and Pryor were married for some time but divorced in 2003. Meanwhile, MTV reported her as Chris’ former fiancee.

In 2014, Destin became a self-employed filmmaker and, two years later, became a screenwriter. His Instagram page bio says he is a writer, actor, and artist.

Although Destin’s parents did not have another child, he has a younger half-sister, Iman Joelle, from his mother’s relationship.

Destin Christopher Tucker Is an Artist

Chris Tucker’s son took after his creativity and chose a career in the entertainment industry. In 2017, Destin attended Morehouse College to study Film, Cinematography, and Film/ Video Production. He said:

“I have family there. It’s an all-male school, and it’s historically black.”

Destin’s parents supported their son’s decision to attend Morehouse College and even spoke to the press about it. Some notable icons educated in the same institution are Samuel L. Jackson, who met his wife in college, Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., and Stevie Wonder.

Destin later directed a short film, “Super Breath,” featured at the Morehouse College Human Rights Film Fest. When he graduated, his mom posted a congratulatory photo on Instagram alongside a lengthy caption expressing her pride and happiness.

His account also has a SoundCloud link, with the song “Gucci Ballerina” published. However, he has yet to post on social media.

Destin and Chris Tucker’s Relationship

Destin has a close relationship with his father. Chris sometimes includes his son in his stand-up scripts as he talks about fatherhood and the possibility of marriage.

The actor also talks about Destin during interviews and once revealed his son enjoyed “The Hunger Games” film. The father and son enjoyed traveling together and once visited China to learn Mandarin.

They also appear together during events, such as the Cannes Film Festival in 2019, the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco in the same year, the 67th NBA All-Star Game in 2018, and the NBA Finals in 2008.

Although he isn’t as much in the spotlight as Chris, Destin isn’t shy to pose beside his dad. Besides their looks, Chris and Destin are alike in more ways than one.
