The Marvel Cinematic Universe is used to hint at details of future projects in post-credits scenes, and that’s precisely what they did with “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”

Although post-credit scenes have been part of the entertainment industry for decades, the Marvel Cinematic Universe made them famous. It is now a common practice in MCU films, and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is no different.

Released on May 6, the “Doctor Strange” sequel digs deeper into the concept of the multiverse – a topic introduced in “Loki” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” Before going to the theater, you should know how many post-credit scenes Doctor Strange 2 has.

HOW MANY POST-CREDIT SCENES DOES DOCTOR STRANGE 2 HAVE?

Ever since “Iron Man” – the first MCU movie, released in 2008 – post-credit scenes are almost mandatory in Marvel films. That’s why so many people stay in their seats while the credits roll, and you should, too.

In some cases, directors include not one but two short scenes. The first one is usually longer, comes right after the main credits, and shows a cliff-hanger for sequels or future projects.

The second post-credit scene frequently comes after the more extensive credit section, is shorter, and has a rather funny approach. Benedict Cumberbatch’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” has two post-credit scenes

Without spoiling everything, we recommend you stay at least for the first one as it hints at things about the future. The second scene is also worth watching, especially if you love Sam Raimi’s work (this film’s director).

WHO IS CLEA STRANGE INTRODUCED IN “DOCTOR STRANGE 2”?

The biggest revelation in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” post-credit scene is Clea Strange, played by Hollywood superstar Charlize Theron

In the comics, Clea is the daughter of the Dark Dimension’s prince and niece of “Doctor Strange” main villain, Dormammu. The Dark Dimension is a realm inaccessible for most humans, similar to “Thor’s” Asgard and “Shang Chi’s” Ta Lo.

Clea’s introduction in the post-credit scene set things up for a third film.

Clea debuted in the comics in November 1964. Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created her as a powerful sorcerer with superhuman strength and many more abilities, including telekinesis, teleportation, transmutation, and casting spells and illusions.

Although Clea is from Earth-616 (the main universe continuity in the MCU), she is also capable of invoking entities and objects from other dimensions.

WHEN CAN WE EXPECT THE “DOCTOR STRANGE 3” RELEASE?

Even though the MCU has yet to confirm the third installment of the “Doctor Strange” film series, die-hard fans are sure Benedict Cumberbatch will portray our favorite sorcerer again.

Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans – other MCU stars – had three solo films before stepping away from the superhero life. Chris Hemsworth is the only exception with four “Thor” films, so it is fair to say Doctor Strange will have at least one more solo movie.

Clea’s introduction in the post-credit scene also set things up for a third film. She and Stephen Strange are romantically involved in the comics, and fans would be thrilled if the MCU’s mastermind Kevin Feige gave Strange a happily-ever-after ending.
