Diego Luna’s acting career began in the theaters where his father worked. He got his first television role in 1991 when he starred in “The Last New Year.” The actor has had a fulfilling acting journey from “El Abuelo y Yo” to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”

In 2022, Diego Luna will reprise his role as rebel spy Cassian Andor in the Disney+ original prequel series “Andor.” The series follows the events five years before “Rogue One” and explores why Cassian became a rebel.

On May 26, 2022, at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim, Lucasfilm announced the release details for the upcoming series and unveiled the first trailer for “Andor.”

In 2018, Diego left Hollywood for Mexico because he had a sense of urgency to be there, and he wanted to be a part of the developments in his country. He also wanted his kids to grow up in Mexico at a slower pace than he did.

The actor was married to Camila Sodi, and they had a son, Jerónimo, and a daughter Fiona. Jerónimo was born on August 12, 2008, in Los Angeles.

After the birth of Jerónimo, Diego said he chose to direct the movie “Abel” because he had just had a son and wanted a film about parents and sons with a focus on absent parents.

Fiona was born on July 1, 2010, and she was named after her paternal grandmother. Diego revealed that she is into music, and he once had to look for a pink violin for her.

WHO IS THE MOTHER OF DIEGO LUNA’S CHILDREN?

Diego and his ex-wife Sodi married on February 5, 2008, after they met on “The Night Buffalo” set in 2007. However, they separated in March 2013 before finalizing their divorce.

Despite their divorce, they still make red carpet appearances with their kids. Born on May 14, 1986, Sodi is a Mexican actress, writer, TV host, and model.

She began her career as a model and is well-known in her home country of Mexico. Sodi is known for her works in “Bad Girls,” “Wild District,” “Senorita Polovora,” “The Night Buffalo,” and “Cualquier Parecido.”

While there is little information about Sodi’s relationships after their divorce, the “Star Wars” actor was in a relationship with British actress Suki Waterhouse from 2015 until 2018.

He was reportedly romantically linked to actress Paulina Dávila and Mexican producer Olga Segura. Diego became the co-founder of Canana Films [mx].

In partnership with his childhood friend and fellow actor Gael García Bernal and Mexican producer Pablo Cruz, Diego founded the production company, which focuses on Mexican and Latin-American-themed features that deal with social justice issues.
