Dulcie Dornan Used to Think Her Father Jamie Dornan Was a Tractor Driver

Dulcie Dornan is Jamie Dornan’s firstborn daughter, who had no idea her father was a famous actor. Dulcie lives away from the city and is being raised like a normal child.

Jamie Dornan gained international fame after starring in the film franchise “Fifty Shades of Grey,” where the actor brought to life the lead character, Christian Grey.

Since his role in the movie, fans began to label Jamie as a heartthrob in the industry. However, Jamie’s real life is nothing close to his on-screen character. Jamie is a happily married man and a doting father to three beautiful daughters, including Dulcie Dornan, his firstborn.

Jamie’s wife, Amelia Warner, was pregnant with their first child when he began filming for “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Then around 30 weeks pregnant, Warner traveled to Vancouver with Dornan for four months for his role.

Jamie praised his wife for being understanding of his work. “She was an actress for ten years, so she’s aware of what it’s like,” he said. Warner was also the person who encouraged Jamie to become a serious Hollywood actor.

While in Canada, Jamie and Warner welcomed their daughter, Dulcie, in November 2013. Dulcie spent her first Christmas the following month in a Vancouver-rented home with complete holiday decorations.

When Dulcie was one, her father had already become a box-office star. “Fifty Shades of Grey” made nearly $570 million at the worldwide box and was then confirmed to have a sequel. Despite his busy work schedule, the actor made time for Dulcie and Warner.

In July 2015, the family of three was spotted out and about, strolling the streets of West London. A photo of the doting dad kissing his daughter’s cheek even made rounds on the internet.

As time passed, more people recognized Jamie as Christian Grey. However, Dulcie had no idea her father was a massive star. At five, she believed he made a living by driving a tractor. Jamie said:

“I tried to tell [Dulcie] one time that I was an actor, and because we live in the countryside with a lot of tractors, she somehow put the two together, and I became a tractor driver in her head.”

There were moments when Dulcie would see a tractor as she passed the rural sides of England and say, “Look, Daddy, that’s what you do.”

Dulcie is growing up in the countryside, hours outside London. Her parents chose to raise her away from the spotlight, where she could grow up normally. However, should she decide to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, Dulcie’s father will tell her all about show business and the reality of life as an actress.

Dulcie Dornan Has Two Younger Sisters, Elva and Alberta

In 2016, Dulcie became an older sister to Elva Dornan. Elva was born while her father was filming “Fifty Shades Darker” in Vancouver.

Three years later, Dulcie’s youngest sister, Alberta, was born. Around that time, their mom posted an Instagram photo celebrating the birth of her third child and her gratitude as a mother of three.

Since becoming a dad, Jamie embraced fatherhood and was happy to have spent quarantine with his family. As a girl dad, he spent many days at home playing dress up with his girls and even shared a photo of him in a red dress and blue hair on social media.

“It’s pretty insane,” he said of being a father to more than one child. However, he wouldn’t want to have it any other way.

Similarly, Jamie’s on-screen love interest, Dakota Johnson, who comes from a family of actors, is also in a happy relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The pair have kept their relationship away from the spotlight, with only a few known things about their love story.
