A police incident has halted traffic on a major Sheffield road.
Ecclesall Road, the A625, has been closed between Rustlings Lane and Psalter Lane in both directions, near the Redbrik Estate Agents. The incident occurred at about 5pm this evening (Wednesday, January 3).
Diversions are in place. The nature of the incident is not yet known. Information on the nature of the incident or if there have been any injuries or arrests is yet to be released.

First Bus has said: “Due to an incident, Ecclesall Road has been closed between Rustlings Lane and Psalter Lane in both directions. Diversion via Ecclesall Road, Summerfield Street, Cemetery Road, Psalter Lane & Ecclesall Road South.”
Stagecoach has said: “Service 65 (Sheffield- Buxton)- Due to a Police Incident on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield our 65 services will be diverting via Woodseats Road to Owler Bar Roundabout in both directions. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience.”
