With an iconic career that stretched well over 40 years, Fabio Lanzoni became the staple of romance novel covers in the 80s. The now-retired model said he was too wild to settle down in the ’90s, and it led to the end of a relationship he still regretted losing.

Italian native Fabio Lanzoni found fulfillment in caring for his body and consistently surrounding himself with nature. He firmly chose not to join the social media scene, but the retired model enjoyed going out, socializing with his friends, and doing outdoor activities.

Starting in his teens, he built a noteworthy career that now speaks for itself, gracing the stages of Versace and Gap, and even appearing in TV shows and films. However, Lanzoni never married or had children.

He lost the chance to take that life direction in the ’90s because he was “too wild” – something he admittedly regretted even now in his sixties. Regardless, Lanzoni is determined to find true love – he still goes on dates – and become a parent.

He also knows what he’s looking for in a partner – the exact traits of which he candidly shared just over a year ago in a few interviews. Although his romantic life remained outside the spotlight, Lanzoni also expressed meaningful insights about romantic connection.

Fabio Wants “Quality” in a Relationship

When he spoke to People in August last year, Lanzoni divulged that he had gone on a dinner date; but he was still looking. And although his impressively maintained physique and charisma attracted many, he insisted:

“There is quantity, but I want quality.”

Regarding his criteria for a partner, Lanzoni preferred someone with a sense of humor who wasn’t too obsessed with social media. He saw himself with a woman who appreciated nature and was unafraid of bugs, someone he would someday marry and with whom he would have children.

He Was Once Asked about Being Single

When the question was posed, Lanzoni said it was because he sought “the full package,” which comprised the “mind, body, and soul” – parts of himself he took care to maintain. He explained that he was “very happy” with himself, but finding people who had reached that same state of being was incredibly difficult. He then added:

“You need the whole combination. It’s like, you can have the most beautiful car, like a Lamborghini or an Aston Martin, with a very powerful motor and a beautiful body, and all of a sudden, you have no wheels. You don’t go anywhere.”

Although he hadn’t yet found a partner, Lanzoni found happiness in living a simple life with his dogs and friends. He stressed the importance of being out in nature because humans are part of nature, as he explained:

“I go hiking, go exercising, I like to be with nature – it’s so important to be with nature because we’re part of nature. We’re supposed to go to the ocean, we’re supposed to go in the forest. It really relaxes you.”

Fabio’s Heart Was Broken Once

In the 1990s, Lanzoni’s career – reaching the heights and likes of Naomi Campbell, who recently became a mom – flourished at its fullest, gracing the covers of People Magazine and even being “purchased” for $16,000 at an auction, being the eligible bachelor he was.

The fitness enthusiast enjoyed his single life at the time. However, he also found love with another model, whose name he chose not to reveal. The said former flame – who has a family of her own now – wanted to settle down with Lanzoni, but he was regrettably “too wild.”

It broke his heart when the relationship ended, but he admitted that he “treated her badly.” And although it had been nearly three decades since then, Lanzoni confessed that he still was yet to move on from the romance’s end.
