Facts about Michael Weatherly’s Wife Bojana Jankovic and Their Relationship

Like her husband, actor Michael Weatherly, Bojana Jankovic has made it big in Hollywood. However, her success in the industry is not what made her famous. Who exactly is Michael Weatherly’s wife?

Michael Weatherly is an accomplished actor best know for his performances as special agent Anthony DiNozzo on “NCIS” in 2003 and as Dr. Jason Bull in the legal drama “Bull.” He’s also a director and a musician.

While fans knew he portrayed as an on-screen doctor, not a lot of them knew that he actually married a renowned doctor. Here are some more fascinating tidbits about Michael’s beautiful wife, Bojana Jankovic.

WHO SHE IS

Bojana is an award-winning doctor respected by her colleagues in the world of medicine. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biophysics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

She furthered her study in medicine on the same university she graduated and later earned a medical degree and a master’s degree in experimental medicine. The American College of Physicians fellow is also an expert in functional medicine and mindfulness.

Over the course of her academic journey, Bojana worked in the fields of endocrinology and oncology. She also presented her discoveries at academic conferences and published seveal medical journals.

Bojana has been recognized for excellence several times, most notably by the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where she earned awards for providing patient satisfaction.

She is no stranger to accolades, having been named a Rising Star by Southern California’s Top Doctors in 2016 and 2017. She is also a Top Doctor in New York City from 2018 to 2021.

Bojana’s professional pursuits included more than just writing for medical publications and working as a doctor. She had an exciting career in the entertainment industry before pursuing her medical career.

The Serbian-born doctor is also a talented writer and assistant director. She is credited for her work in the 2007 short film “Do Not Leave Me with Strangers” and the 2009 series “TVWWW.”

Although she no longer works in the entertainment industry, she had frequent TV appearances as a health consultant. She appeared on MSNBC’s “Today” and “The Rachel Ray Show,” where she discussed medical topics.

HOW DID THEY MEET AND WHEN DID THEY GET MARRIED

It took some time for Michael and Bojana to get to know one another. In an October 2014 interview with show host Queen Latifah, Michael revealed how he met his future wife.

Michael shared to the host that he he met Bojana while he on a trip to Vancouver with his friends. He invited her out for dinner, smitten by her beauty, but she declined because she had other plans.

She told the “Dark Angel” actor about her plans to spend three weeks in Europe with her friends. Michael took considerable measures to arrange a date with Bojana, including traveling to Paris to take her to dinner.

Bojana admired Michael’s features and remembered them having wonderful eye contact on the day they met. After a two-year long-distance romance, she relocated to Los Angeles to be with Michael.

The couple ultimately married in September 2009. Michael’s marriage to the renowned doctor let him realize that he had finally discovered happiness and contentment. The delightful actor said:

“I had gotten to a much more mature stage in my life and understood myself much better.”

Michael was previously engaged to his “Dark Angel” co-star Jessica Alba in 2003. He abandoned the spotlight for a long time after his high-profile breakup with Alba, who is now married to producer Cash Warren.

HOW MANY CHILDREN DO THEY HAVE

Michael and Bojana’s union blessed them with two beautiful children. On April 10, 2012, three years after they tied the knot, they became parents for the first time to a beautiful daughter whom they named Olivia.

Less than two years later, they welcomed their second child together, a son named Liam, on October 29, 2013. Michael has never been happier, saying that his children and marriage are his greatest pride.

Michael considers himself lucky to have Bojana as his wonderful wife for over a decade. He looks forward to spending their golden years together in the future.

His current happiness is a far cry from his state following the collapse of his first marriage a few decades ago, leaving him heartbroken and helpless.

HIS PRECIOUS MARRIAGE

Aside from Olivia and Liam, Michael has an older son named August, whom he shares with his ex-wife and actress Amelia Heinle. The fomer couple worked on the soap opera “Loving” and its spinoff “The City,” where they fell in love.

But the pair had a brief marriage, lasting from 1995 until 1997. Michael refers to his first marriage as a tough time. Michael struggled to sustain his family when “The City” series was canceled. He felt too young for his responsibilities.

To make ends meet, he accepted just about any job that came his way, leading to long periods of separation from home and, ultimately, divorce. He said his split from Amelia after being married for less than two years was a very hard time.

It was hard on their son August, with one parent moving across the nation. Learning from his past mistakes, Michael said he no longer brings his work into his private life. He works hard when he’s at work but values his family at home. He remarked:

“When I got remarried, I wanted to do my very best to ensure that rupture wouldn’t happen again. My kids and my marriage are the things I’m proudest of.”

He attributes much of his personal development to his profession. He said acting has given him a better understanding of himself and that it has helped him grow as a person.
