Francesca Christine Giner remains an inspiration to her mother, Amy Jo Johnson, who regularly posts loving tributes to her on social media. She discovered why her mom is a favorite amongst the nostalgic ’90s set when she saw “Power Rangers” at five.

She entered her teen years by growing nearly as tall as her famous mother. The teenager does not seem too cool to still hang out with her mom just yet as they are often spotted doing fun activities like the edge walk down the CN Tower in Toronto.

Francesca Christine Giner and Amy Jo Johnson Are “Best Buddies”

Francesca was born December 1, 2008, weighing 7 lbs., 1 oz. Her parents, Johnson and Olivier Giner were engaged and tied the knot soon after. They divorced in 2017 when their daughter was nine, and it’s unclear what role Olivier plays in her life.

The “Flashpoint” actress announced the pregnancy in June 2008 and kept a low profile during her term. She occasionally takes her child, who she affectionately calls Franky, with her to set.

Franky’s middle name is a tribute to her grandmother, Christine Johnson, who died on August 19, 1998, following a 10-month battle with uterine cancer. Amy was close to her mother and left the TV show “Felicity” after two seasons because she needed time to grieve.

Johnson cast her only daughter in two short films, “Bent” and her award-winning comedy-drama with Enrico Colantoni and Ingrid Kavelaars, “Lines,” when Francesca was 4 and 5, respectively. In both films, her character is called Francesca.

“Bent” was a personal project for the director and writer, who wrote from her experience in a religious cult with her mother and brother for 12 years. Francesca’s father was the executive producer of the film.

When asked in 2020 if her daughter wanted to follow her into the entertainment industry, the filmmaker said that her child, then 12, had not expressed an interest in acting, “Whatever she would want to do, I would support [her].”
