A family from Pike County, Georgia, is reeling after a devastating loss. Life as they knew it changed forever when they lost much more than just their home in a fire.

The family was at home on November 12, 2022, going about their daily routines as usual. The day before was full of fun and love as they celebrated two birthdays in one. However, the very next day, something terrible occurred.

The Fire Claimed Two Lives

The twins, whose names were not yet released, adored their parents and only allowed their mom and dad to hold them. Nobody knew that the time to cuddle and love the little ones was coming to an end unexpectedly.

Firefighters were called to a home in the Molena area, but before they arrived, the blaze had been stopped. Sadly, it was already too late—the twins didn’t survive.

Lisa Perdue was the proud grandmother of the babies, and she couldn’t make sense of the ordeal that shocked her family’s world. However, she believed God would give them the strength to persevere.

Waking up in the morning was a struggle but Lisa did it and remained brave. She believed and trusted that God would be the one to get her and her family to the other side of this ordeal.

The Family Needs Assistance

The set of one-year-old twins passed away, and their death left the family heartbroken. They were in mourning and in desperate need of financial assistance. On their GoFundMe page, the twins’ sister, Logan, stated:

“My biological father and his wife do not have the funds. The funeral is at no cost itself we still have to cover other expenses concerning the funeral like opening and closing.”

She added that they needed any help possible because they had no furniture and nowhere to live. By November 18, 111 donations had been made, amounting to over $6,700.

It Was a Heartbreaking Experience

The family’s life was so much different just a few days earlier. They had been planning a special birthday party for the twins, and now their world was upside down.

Logan said the kids were already missed terribly. Grandmother Lisa relied on her faith to move forward but still struggled. The woman shared:

“We want and need the world to know, we need prayer. This is the hardest thing we ever went through. And me as a grandparent, it’s hard.”
