Get to Know Rising Star Olivia DeJonge Who Was Rumored to Be Dating Austin Butler

If everyone in life has a purpose, Olivia DeJonge knew that hers was acting from an early age. Her rumored relationship with Vanessa Hudgens’ ex-boyfriend made some headlines.

Born in Melbourne, Australia, in April 1998, Olivia DeJonge has been in love with acting since she was a child. She never had one of those “aha” moments, though. Acting has always been part of her life.

DeJonge used to put on shows for her parents. She even convinced her younger brother to dress up and be part of her made-up plays. Eventually, she discovered acting was her way to express and find herself, so going professional was only a matter of time.

When DeJonge was eight years old, she started dipping her toes into the acting industry by landing radio and TV voiceovers. By the time she was 14, she had already worked in four TV ads and a few short films. 

DeJonge’s life changed after winning awards for her role in the short film “Good Pretender.” After portraying Lavinia Hall in “The Sisterhood of Night,” DeJonge’s American agents told her to submit an audition tape for an M. Night Shyamalan project.

She did it, and the “Sixth Sense” director gave her the role of Becca in “The Visit,” a 15-year-old teenager who goes to her creepy grandparents’ home with her younger brother and ends up fighting for their lives.

DeJonge’s performance was so outstanding that she was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in 2015.

In June 2021, DeJonge’s career made headlines again after she joined Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Sophie Turner, and the rest of the cast of HBO Max’s “The Staircase.” 

Still, people cannot wait to see Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley, Elvis Presley’s wife, in the King of Rock and Roll’s eponymous biographical musical film scheduled for June 2022.

While filming “Elvis,” DeJonge met Vanessa Hudgens’ ex-boyfriend Austin Butler. Butler portrays Elvis in the biopic, and he and DeJonge reportedly took their on-screen romance to real life. 

DeJonge and Butler sparked dating rumors in early 2020, shortly after his and Hudgens’ breakup went public. The “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” star and the “High School Musical” alum dated from 2011 to late 2019.

Austin Butler and Olivia DeJonge were initially spotted at a movie theater in Melbourne in January 2020, but later that November, they spent some quality time on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t stand the test of time, and they allegedly parted ways shortly after their beach outing.

After DeJonge, Butler was linked to Lily-Rose Depp. They were seen kissing while having dinner, but things never took off. Now, Butler is reportedly dating Jacob Elordi’s ex-girlfriend Kaia Gerber.

Gerber and Butler sparked dating rumors in December 2021 after leaving a yoga class together and showing some PDA during their Los Angeles outings. Although they have not confirmed their relationship, they spent Valentine’s Day together in London.

Olivia DeJonge is focused on her acting career as she knows “The Staircase” could make her an international star. Way to go!
