Gia Was Born in 2010

Gia was born on September 11, 2010, in Burbank, California. Mario and his wife, actress Courtney Laine Mazza Lopez, welcomed their daughter before they got married.

Mario first met Gia’s mother when he was doing the Broadway show “A Chorus Line” in 2008. The couple, who had been together for a long time, finally got married in a beautiful ceremony in Punta Mita in December 2012.

Then 2-year-old Gia served as the adorable flower girl at the couple’s stunning wedding, broadcast for a two-hour episode on the TLC network, “Mario & Courtney’s Wedding Fiesta.”

But later on, Mario suggested they name their daughter Gia because he liked the 1998 biopic “Gia,” which starred renowned actress Angelina Jolie. The film is about the life of one of the world’s first supermodels, Gia Carangi. Mario said:

“Angelina Jolie in that movie totally came to my mind when we were thinking of names…Next time I see her, I need to tell her that. I need to tell her she was a big influence.”

Gia Has Already Starred in Several Films

Gia has been used to cameras flashing before her since she was born. She was only a month old when she shared the spotlight with pop star Ricky Martin, who cradled her while on the set of the TV show “Extra” in November 2010.
