Gigi Santo Pietro, the youngest and only daughter of Vanna White, has taken a professional route into the arts, and not just as a tattoo artist. She has a loving relationship with her mother and inherited the TV personality’s love of cats.

Gigi Santo Pietro’s mother, Vanna White, has been open about her love and family life. The TV host’s romantic life has seen its ups and downs over the years, but what she treasures most is her relationship with her children.

She developed a special bond with her daughter, Gigi, who chose not to follow in the entertainer’s footsteps. Like her older brother, the 20-something-year-old, who regularly appears on her mother’s socials, has been forging a separate path in the arts.

Gigi Santo Met Her Future Pet While Out and about with Mom

Gigi was born on July 1, 1997, to Vanna and her former husband, restauranteur George Santo Pietro. Her parents had married in 1990 and first welcomed her older brother, Nicholas “Nikko” San Pietro, a two-time graduate of Oregon State University and the University of Arizona.

He was born on June 10, 1994. When Gigi was three, in May 2002, her mom filed for divorce from her dad, citing irreconcilable differences. They had separated that previous November and Vanna requested joint custody of Gigi and Nicholas.

Four years before, Gigi’s parents had made headlines after news of her dad’s infidelity with a young model, Tanya Abayan, broke. Although Tanya insisted she was only friends with George, she alleged he had “lots of mistresses” during his marriage to Vanna.

Following the divorce, Gigi and her sibling lived with their mom in Southern California. Despite her parents’ separation, her relationship with Vanna blossomed, and she had some pleasant moments in her childhood.

While out and about with the “Wheel of Fortune” star—whose co-host Pat Sajak also has a daughter, Maggie Sajak—in the late 2000s, they walked by a pet store and saw a cat they just couldn’t leave behind. Vanna recalled the sweet memory during an interview, recounting:

“My daughter and I just happened to be walking by the store, and stopped in to see the pets. Lo and behold, my daughter fell in love with Stella – and there was no going back!”

Gigi’s mom had already adopted another furry companion whom she named Kiki. She had grown up with pet cats in her home city Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. And as Gigi inherited her love of cats, they completed their family with Stella.

Gigi Santo Pietro Is Talented in Her Own Way

In 2019, Vanna revealed that neither of her children was not joining the entertainment industry as she did. Her son became an organic farmer, while Gigi developed a passion for the arts, including writing and photography. However, Gigi once appeared on “Wheel of Fortune” when she was 12 or 13.

The mom of two imagined her daughter might work in magazines but was still figuring out her career trajectory. Gigi attended Buckley School before pursuing a four-year degree in Photography and Imaging at the New York University – Tisch School of the Arts.

Gigi is also a talented tattoo artist, working at the Lincoln Tattoo Company, and regularly shares her stunning work on her Instagram page. At the time of publication, she had amassed just over 2.9K followers.

Vanna White Was a Caring Mother to Gigi and Her Brother

When away from the screen, Vanna’s primary focus was Gigi and Nicholas. She ensured they were well cared for and instilled strict oral hygiene rules. She rarely gave them candy when they were younger even and kept toothbrushes for them in the kitchen.

Although Gigi and her brother had their own bathrooms where they brushed, Vanna wanted their teeth cleaned after breakfast before school. As Gigi grew older, she remained in touch with her mom and maintained their loving bond.

Among her appearances on Vanna’s IG page are a sweet birthday tribute from 2021 and a Christmas family portrait from last December. Earlier last year, Vanna also shared an adorable picture collage, including photos of herself and her kids, whom she called “the joys” of her life.
