Hayden Panettiere’s little brother, Jansen Panettiere, who was only 28 years old, passed away in New York City on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Jansen’s cause was not immediately reported, and there is reportedly no foul play in his passing. He was five years younger than his sister.

Like her, the New York native was also an actor known for his early 2000s films and TV shows, including “Even Stevens,” and “Tiger Cruise,” among others. His most recent screen appearance was in the holiday movie, “Love and Love Not.”

Besides his showbiz work, Jansen was also creative and passionate about art. He filled his Instagram account with abstract artwork and bright artistic portraits.

Hayden’s Brother Jansen Found Dead: His Friends Speak Out

Police officials received a 911 call to his residence at about 5:30 p.m., and they revealed there was nothing suspicious about his death. Jansen was discovered unresponsive at his apartment by his friends.

The said companions felt obligated to go and check on him at his place after a no-show at a business meeting. Upon arrival, they found him sitting upright in a chair, and one of them dialed 911 and tried to resuscitate him.

Jansen’s father, Skip Panettiere, shared that he spoke to him the day before his untimely passing, and he seemed fine. Meanwhile, his sister is shattered by the news of his death, said an insider – who added that she adored her little brother:

“Hayden is absolutely heartbroken.”

The source further disclosed that Jansen previously suffered from mental health issues and openly talked about it with his family, adding his love for art was a distraction.

According to the insider, his big sister supported him during his hard times and did the best she could to get him the help he needed.

Jansen’s last online post was a picture of his lover, Catherine Michie, who took a selfie next to the artwork. He captioned the photo, “#rane.”

The pair were together for a year, and Michie broke her silence in a heart-wrenching social media post, paying tribute to her love in a lengthy post.

She described the TV star as her “best friend and biggest fan,” adding she would never forget the first time they met and the first words he uttered.

Michie admitted it was painful realizing she would never hear him laughing again while wishing him peace. She apologized to her partner for not being next to him when he took his last breath. “Someone wake me up,” she expressed, adding that it all feels like a dream.

Michie shared a video of her beloved boyfriend sitting on a bench and penned that he was “something special.” She also posted a selfie of the pair on a plane leaning into one another while smiling.

The two had their earphones on, and Michie explained that “Ace of Hearts” was their favorite song, adding they had lost one another so that they could “better unite.”

His Tender Relationship with His Sister, Hayden, Who Is Heartbroken

Hayden has yet to comment on her brother’s death. The Hollywood siblings had a close relationship. The Nickelodeon star shared their last picture together online.

Jansen posted a black and white photo of the brother and sister duo warmly smiling as Hayden cut his hair on January 24, 2023. He joked that it was “not the first haircut” that his sibling was trying to give him.

Moreover, Jansen was an award nominee, having been nominated for a Young Artist Award in 2008 for his work on “The Last Days of Summer.”

The Disney star continued acting through the 2010s and appeared in the drama series, “Major Crimes,” and “The Walking Dead.” He was working on five projects before he sadly passed on.

The youngster is survived by his sister, Hayden, his firefighter father, Skip, and his actress and producer mother, Lesley Vogel.

Jansen and Hayden’s parents parted ways, and they later accepted their dad’s new marriage and their new stepmother.
