This is the latest weather forecast for the main cities in Yorkshire on Sunday amid a yellow weather warning for snow. The white stuff settled on Sunday morning following heavy snowfall overnight.
More snow is still forecast for areas of Yorkshire throughout Sunday after ‘a wall of snow’ arctic blast came down in the latter stages of Saturday. It is definitely ‘big coat’ weather but Monday’s forecast predicts a rainy day – so the snow won’t last forever.
The Met Office overall prediction for Yorkshire says: “Early sleet and snow gradually clearing east during the morning, with icy stretches an additional hazard. Becoming drier for most, although it will remain rather cloudy and murky in the afternoon. Feeling rather cold, with light winds. Maximum temperature 2C.”

Sunday evening will see largely dry and clear spells overnight, leading to another widespread frost. “Risk of icy stretches. Cloud increasing to bring outbreaks of rain and hill snow in south by dawn. Minimum temperature -3C,” the Met Office says.
In Sheffield, light snow is due around 3pm and Huddersfield is predicted more snow between 3pm and 5pm today. York is cold and foggy with no more snow to come for the historic Yorkshire ‘capital’. More of the same in Bradford with overcast clouds throughout the day.
