Martha Stewart’s first-ever yard sale attracted quite a few A-list celebrities, including Blake Lively, Kris Jenner, and Joy Behar. The lifestyle guru sold furniture, art, and housewares for a new ABC special, “The Great American Tag Sale With Martha Stewart.”

Held at Martha’s New York home, the yard sale helped raise more than $800,000 for The Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Hospital, which provides assisted living to older adults and their families.

With her fame and influence, getting other celebrities to support her cause would not be a difficult task for Martha. Besides having famous friends, the iconic entrepreneur also has a well-renowned relative in the entertainment industry.

HOW ARE JIMMY KIMMEL AND MARTHA STEWART RELATED?

Martha has a cousin who is almost as famous as she is: late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. In 2020, Kimmel appeared on the genealogy show “Finding Your Roots,” which revealed his connection to the cooking show star. He said:

“Well, this is great news for the holidays. I mean, it’s very bad news for her, but it’s very good news for me.”

The 54-year-old late-night host said it was unbelievable that Martha is his cousin and even poked fun at their association, saying that the result explains why he makes his own vinegar.

After finding out his links with Martha, Kimmel had the chance to fully bond with the lifestyle guru in rapper Snoop Dogg’s show “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner.”

In the show, Kimmel served as the hip-hop star’s potluck partner. The Emmy-winning TV presenter gave Martha a dog-shaped charcuterie board and chatted about their incredible connection.

WHO WAS MARTHA STEWART MARRIED TO?

Martha was married to publicist Andrew Stewart for 29 years. Andrew was then a law student at Yale University, while his former wife studied European history and architectural history at Barnard College.

The pair met on a blind date in 1960 and married the following year. Unfortunately, Andrew and Marthacalled quits in 1987 and divorced in 1990.

It remains unclear why the pair had split, but it was alleged that cheating rumors and Martha’s highly successful career marred theirs over two decades of a long marriage.

After a long marriage, Martha remains single, while Andrew remarried. On why she remained single for a long time, Marth joked that she’s enjoying the fame from her legendary Instagram selfie.

DOES MARTHA STEWART HAVE CHILDREN?

Martha and her ex-husband, Andrew, share a daughter, Alexis Stewart. Like her mother, Alexis is also into hosting. She is a former host of the television show “Whatever with Alexis and Jennifer.”

She also co-hosted the show on Sirius Satellite Radio, where she and her co-host often poked fun at her own mother. Besides car hosting, Alexis also counts being an author under her belt, having co-written a book.

Alexis was once married to one of her mother’s lawyers, John Robert Cuti, whom Martha hired to defend her in her infamous legal case regarding stock trading. The former couple tied the knot in 1997 and divorced in 2004.

Although they called it quits, Alexis only had good words for her ex-husband when interviewed on Larry King Live. She described him as a “wonderful person and a great lawyer.”
