Fans of the Addams Family series have something to smile about as a new teaser for the series’s spin-off “Wednesday” was released recently. Find out interesting details about the movie’s main character Jenna Ortega, who will play Wednesday Addams.

Over a year after announcing that Jenna Ortega would headline in the “Wednesday” series, Netflix has finally dropped the first footage of the actress, who will be starring as Wednesday Addams in the Tim Burton’s Addams Family series. 

The short teaser clip was released on June 6, 2022, the first day of Netflix’s geeked weekend. The clip does not highlight any footage from the movie but shows extended shots of Wednesday Addams tying her pigtails before stepping into the frame and straightening the collar of her dress.

The teaser also shows an appearance by Thing, who joins Wednesday Addams in snapping along to the iconic Addams Family theme.

The comedy, directed by Burton, has been described as “a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy,” as she tries to master her emerging psychic ability. Although a release date is yet to be announced, viewers can only hope the series premiers sooner than expected.

Ortega may be very young, but she has accomplished a lot in her acting career. She began her journey in the movie industry at nine years and has bagged several roles, including the role of Harley in “Stuck In The Middle,” a Disney Channel series.

The young actress has also featured in other Disney productions and award-winning television series and movies. Today, she is famous for starring as Young Jane in the iconic comedy-drama “Jane The Virgin” and Darcy in the Netflix sitcom “Richie Rich.”

Regarding her extended family, Ortega’s maternal great-grandmother is Mexican, but she migrated to the United States from a small ranch near Sinaloa, Mexico. Despite the diversity in her ethnicity, Ortega says she is very proud of her heritage.
