A MAN who had his body sliced in half in a horror forklift crash has shared a scary moment he had recently while swimming with his wife.
Loren Schauers, who had his lower half amputated in 2019 after the horrific accident, has shown he won’t let his injuries change his life – even if they scare his wife.

In the new video, Loren is swimming with the assistance of an inflatable ring alongside his wife Sabia.
Testing how much he could float, he suddenly slipped off the inflatable, to the shock of his wife.
Sabia can be heard saying: “Don’t hit your head!”
His wife previously said she panics when he goes under water, as Loren only has one working arm.
Loren said: “As I was swimming, she let me go once and I can hold myself up for a second paddling.
“I can rotate and stuff and catch my breath so she doesn’t need to stop me.”
Loren was only 20 when he fell 50ft and was pinned down by a forklift, severing his arm and crushing his lower body.
His girlfriend Sabia Reiche, then 19, said goodbye to him six times as docs warned he would not make it.

And his family was asked to make the agonising decision on whether to let surgeons cut him in half.
The drastic hemicorporectomy op – amputating everything below the waist – was the only way to save his life but his mum and sister did not know if Loren would rather die.
Eventually he regained consciousness and looked medics “dead in the eye” to make his wishes clear, Sabia recalls.
The couple, now married, have won legions of fans sharing details of their life together on YouTube.
She has to perform many daily tasks for Loren including changing his colostomy bags and showering him.
But despite the life they have carved out together, people still pester them by asking how they have sex.
Sabia said: “That is a very personal question that we are never going to answer or allude to as it’s very disrespectful.
“You wouldn’t ask a random couple on the street how they have sex and just because our life circumstances are different, it doesn’t give people the right to ask.”
