Morgan Wallen’s son, Indigo Wilder, was born on July 10, 2020, in Nashville, weighing 6lbs13oz. The birth of Wilder left his father a changed man. The “Whiskey Glasses” singer announced Wilder’s arrival on Instagram alongside a sweet message dedicated to his son.

“Since you came into the world Friday, I see mine differently now,” the “Chasin’ You” singer wrote alongside a photo of him holding his newborn baby. Even though the first-time dad admitted it had been a tough year, his son’s arrival brought him so much joy.

Wallen promised the baby he would be the dad he deserved and an amazing co-parent to Wilder’s mother. Even though the country singer admitted he was a little scared of how being a dad would feel, he promised to protect his son and be a good example.

Katy Smith, Wilder’s mother, also announced the news of her baby’s arrival on her Instagram, alongside several pictures from the hospital. She wrote:

“When you pray for God to send someone who reciprocates your love for them- and he sends you the perfect version of that.”

Smith then revealed her son’s name and admitted he was the cutest little human she had ever laid eyes on. Wilder’s parents separated before he was born, but the pair agreed to co-parent and raise their son.

Smith met Wallen after breaking up with her ex-boyfriend. Though she didn’t get into details about how she and the singer met, she said they communicated a lot via Snapchat and would hang out more often. After being friends for some time, they began dating and got engaged after a few months.

She [Smith] said she went to about 10-15 schools and lived in many homes with her mother.

But their engagement didn’t last; they soon broke it off but continued dating and living together for about three years. However, in their third year, things began going south, and they were on and off.

Wallen became busy with his career, going on different tours at the time. But they would still communicate often and meet whenever he was in town.

Though Smith accused Wallen of being unfaithful, she said she understood that, at the time, he was thrown into the spotlight at a young age and might have encountered a lot of temptations. After they broke up, Smith found out she was expecting a baby.

She said she faced a lot of challenges during her pregnancy journey. At three months, Smith was involved in a car crash while on her way home from work. Her car was totaled, and as a result, she couldn’t drive to work, so she had to quit her job.

It was also the same time the pandemic hit, leaving her to move into an apartment complex and find another job. Thankfully, Smith had her mother’s support, who moved in with her and took care of her during the pregnancy.

Though it didn’t turn out as he had expected, Wallen said he was grateful to share his son with someone he cared about. While Wallen admitted that, at first, it was a bit challenging to co-parent, he said he and Smith had figured out a way to raise their son, Indigo Wilder.

Who Is Morgan Wallen’s Ex, Katie Smith?

Indigo Wilder’s mom was born in Florida on November 13, 1994. Her parents divorced when she was three; a year later, her father passed away after suffering from a heart attack. Smith spent most of her childhood in Florida, but she and her mother began relocating to different places when she turned 12.

In her blog, the mom of one stated while growing up, she never had anything consistently besides the love of her mom, nanna, and aunt. She said she went to about 10-15 schools and lived in many homes with her mother.

Smith has two half-brothers, one from her dad and his ex-wife and another from her mom and ex-husband. Even though Smith had a difficult time growing up, she said everything happened for a reason and is grateful for the experience. She hopes to use her trials to help others get through theirs.
