Fans are always curious about Gillian Jacobs’ boyfriend, dating history, and personal life. The talented actress has been in the public eye for years, and one question that has been on many people’s minds recently is whether or not she is dating Chris Storer.

The actress was born Gillian McLaren Jacobs in Pennsylvania on October 19, 1982, to an investment banker father and a Carnegie Mellon University alum relations officer mother.

She began acting when she was young and made her acting debut at 16. At 23, she made her feature film debut, and the following year, the actress made her television debut in the 2006 series, “The Book of Daniel.”

Jacobs had since starred in other movies and series but got her big break in 2009 when she played the role of Britta Perry in the series “Community.” The series lasted for six seasons, and soon after, she added directing and writing to her resume.

Her most recent role is that of Mary Jayne Gold in Netflix’s seven-part series, “Transatlantic.” She played the role alongside other actors, including Cory Michael Smith, Lucas Englander, Yoli Fuller, Nadiv Molcho, and Jodhi May.

Chris Storer Is Said to Be Gillian Jacobs’ Boyfriend

Tales have circulated that the actress is dating Christopher “Chris” Storer, but neither has publicly confirmed their relationship status. The rumors about them dating go back to 2013 when a fan posted pictures of them together in several locations.

In 2017, the actress revealed that she loved fellow theater nerds and knew one could be spotted from a distance. She also remarked that she was in a relationship with a creative but had never dated a fellow actor, and fingers seemed to point to Storer’s direction.

In 2018, they were spotted at the special film screening of his film “Eighth Grade,” as they posed together for a picture. While they haven’t made statements about their relationship, her co-star Joel McHale confirmed them as an item in 2023.

McHale acted alongside Jacobs, Donald Glover, Jim Rash, Danny Pudi, Chevy Chase, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, and Ken Jeong in “Community.” In February 2023, while speaking about his guest appearance in a Storer-created series, “The Bear,” he said:

“Gillian Jacobs, who plays Britta [on ‘Community’] obviously, her longtime boyfriend Chris Storer created ‘The Bear,’ and he asked if I would play that [character].”

Storer is a film producer, director, and writer known for “Ramy,” “Chris Rock Total Blackout: The Tamborine Extended Cut,” the Peabody Award-winning Netflix special “Hasan Minhaj: Homecoming King,” and others.

Gillian Jacobs Has a Lot of Stories about Bad Dates

Jacobs, like many people, has experienced her fair share of bad dates. Over the years, the actress has shared some amusing and cringe-worthy stories about her dating experiences. She had a strict and controlling mother while growing up.

In addition, she does not drink or party frequently, leaving her with few options for meeting a guy. The actress revealed that she had her first kiss at 15, and even after moving away from home, she was stuck smiling at guys while on the train without meeting anyone she would date.

Jacobs revealed that once, her friends set her up with a guy, and she was so excited at the prospect of meeting a man that she took a case of energy drinks so she could stay up all night if need be. She met the man at a nightclub and saw that he was nerdy, taller than her, and had interesting tattoos.

The actress tried flirting, but it did not work, and soon they moved on to another bar with her friends. After they arrived at the second location, she successfully started a conversation with the man after touching his forearm.

Just when she thought she would finally have a boyfriend, her friends started a fight, and they all got kicked out of the bar. Years later, she discovered from the guy that her friends never informed him of the setup.

Another time, her dad set her up with a family friend. The guy and his friends wanted to hang out in a cool bar in Los Angeles, and so she helped them get in because she knew one of the owners.

The guy and his friends got drunk, and the guy got mad when she was looking at her phone, so he threw it across the bar. The actress drove them home, even though they were too drunk to tell her where they lived.

When they finally arrived at the guy’s apartment, he asked if she wanted to go to San Diego with him in three hours, to which she declined. The guy then gave her a sideways hug and continued to text her for the next couple of weeks, despite the actress not being interested in dating him.

Another of her worst dates happened in New York. In her opinion, she thought the guy took date ideas from the internet. The date, which she felt was preplanned, started at a bad sushi place, followed by a visit to a dessert place she wanted to avoid because it was a tourist attraction.

As they walked to the dessert place, they passed by some strip clubs, and he joked about being able to get her a job at one of the strip clubs. After hours of not enjoying herself, he offered to accompany her home but pretended not to know the way to hers while suggesting Jacobs go to his place, where his mother could cook her breakfast.

When they arrived at her apartment, he insisted on staying, and she eventually had to get him out of her room. Despite this, he continued to text her for the next few weeks, thinking they had a connection.

Gillian Jacobs Calls Herself a Loner and Has an Ambivalent Attitude toward Marriage

Regarding marriage, Jacobs has mixed feelings about the institution because she has not been exposed to great ones. She said:

“I don’t have a real immediate example of a marriage working. My friends married for green cards and health insurance.”

She has described herself as a loner but is thankful she has friends. However, she remarked that her primary problem was not getting bad advice but ignoring good ones.
