James Brolin’s Son Has Fun with Daughter in a Carrier While His Dad Gave Condition to Babysit Grandchild

James Brolin’s eldest son, Josh Brolin, welcomed two daughters recently and has been sharing amusing videos of him on daddy duty.

James Brolin is a renowned American actor however when he became a first-time father, he put his Hollywood life on hold.

Brolin met his first wife, Jane Cameron Agee, while he was on the set of “The Monroe’s in Wyoming. Brolin and Agee’s connection was instant because the couple tied the knot in 1966, just 12 days after the meeting.

They welcomed their first son Josh in 1968, and becoming a father was a big deal for Brolin. An old newspaper article by Family Weekly reported that Brolin had tried to prepare for fatherhood as much as possible.

The actor was said to have hired a nurse from Santa Monica to come and help out when the baby was born.

However, luck was not on the “Westworld” star’s side because the nurse never arrived as she had to drive to a funeral.

Nonetheless, Brolin took on the challenge and immersed himself in the world of his first child, from changing diapers to preparing dinner and taking care of the household. He found joy in his sleepless nights.

The couple welcomed another son Jess, but their marriage came to end after 17 years. Brolin filed for divorce in 1984.

Brolin moved on and married actress Jan Smithers. The couple welcomed a daughter Molly Elizabeth. Their marriage did not last, but Brolin was lucky the third time around.

James Brolin Found the Love of His Life in His 50S

Brolin met his third wife, Barbra Streisand, through a mutual friend, reported The Guardian. The actor said before his friend suggested setting him up with Streisand, he had only seen her at a luncheon and the Oscars.

Brolin agreed to meet up with Streisand, and their friend invited them to a dinner party. However, the “Lightyear” star decided to have all his hair shaved before the party.

The actor told The Guardian that when Streisand saw him, she was shocked and said, “Who [messed] up your hair?” And that was the moment Brolin said made him fall in love with the actress.

Two years after their blind date, Streisand and Brolin walked down the aisle in 1998. Streisand became a stepmother and step-grandparent because Brolin’s eldest son, Josh, became a first-time father and welcomed a son Trevor with his first wife, Alice Adair.

The couple welcomed a second child in 1994, a daughter named Eden. But Josh and Adair called it quits in 1996. Just like his father, Josh found love at a mature age.

In 2013 Josh met his wife, Kathryn Boyd, who worked as his assistant. The couple announced their engagement in 2015 and tied the knot in 2016, reported US Weekly.

Josh Became a Father Again More than Two Decades Later

Josh and Boyd welcomed their first daughter together, Westlyn, soon after celebrating their matrimonies.

The proud father shared the good news on Instagram, Josh wrote that the birth of his daughter was a miracle and thanked everyone for their support.

In 2019, Brolin had an interview with people and revealed his son’s reaction to becoming a father again after three decades.

The actor revealed that Josh embraced fatherhood and dropped everything to present with his daughter.

Brolin said his son spent three months just dealing with diapers and the baby despite how busy he was. Josh is a doting father like his dad.

As for Brolin and Streisand, they have also been happy with being grandparents. Brolin gushed over his granddaughter and told Closer Weekly how beautiful she was.

He also said they love to have Westlyn over, who Brolin said loves swimming and having dinner with him and his award-winning singer wife, Streisand.

On Live with Kelly and Ryan, Brolin was asked again about his granddaughter. The talk show host asked if the grandfather would be babysitting.

Brolin joked and said he would babysit at “two bucks an hour” like in the old days. But the grandfather told Closer Weekly that his wife melts whenever she’s around Westlyn.

The actor said Streisand is very close to her stepgranddaughter and revealed that she is always on a video call with her.

Josh Brolin and Kathryn Boyd Welcome Baby Number Two

Not long after celebrating the birth of Weslyn, Josh and Boyd welcomed a second daughter. Which made Brolin and Streisand grandparents of four.

Josh has shown off on Instagram how much he is enjoying fatherhood. He shared a sweet video of him and his daughter in a baby carrier, making her laugh with his theatrical skills.

Josh has celebrated many moments with his children. The actor also watched his daughter get married and poured his emotions over this special moment on Instagram.

The actor wrote how much he cherished the privilege of being able to attend a day that is such a big part of his daughter’s life.

The actor expressed how emotional he was when he watched his daughter’s husband cry at the look of seeing his daughter walk down the aisle.

Brolin is happy to have the opportunity to bring new life into the world and also to see his older children in different phases of their adult lives.
