Although Janet released her debut album in 1982, it was only four years later that she had a taste of colossal success when her studio album “Control” sold eight million copies worldwide. Her hard work and talent got her three Grammy Award nominations and nine American Music Award nominations, of which she won two.

Janet comes from a family of gifted musicians, with his late brother, Michael Jackson, receiving the King of Pop moniker. Naturally, their talent and passion for music run in the blood, making it no surprise if Janet’s son follows in her footsteps.

The “Escapade” songstress is a proud and single mother to Eissa Al Mana, whom she had at an older age than most moms. According to Janet, having a child was part of “God’s plan,” so she was over the moon when she welcomed her son.

WHO IS EISSA AL MANA, JANET JACKSON’S ADORABLE SON?

On January 3, 2017, Eissa was born to parents Janet and Wissam Al Mana. Eissa was well taken care of from the day he was conceived. In April 2016, his mom revealed that she and Wassam were “planning a family” together and had to postpone her “Unbreakable” tour.

After Eissa’s birth, Janet ensured his privacy and shielded him from prying eyes. Nevertheless, she did not shy away from talking about her journey toward motherhood. Seventeen months after giving birth, Janet said in an interview:

“[Eissa] has showed me that love, no matter how deeply you believe you have experienced that emotion, can always go deeper. Love is limitless.”

She added, “For someone like me, raised in show business where self-concern is a priority, how fortunate I am now to be concerned, first and foremost, with the welfare of someone else. Day after day, and night after night, holding my baby in my arms, I am at peace. I am blessed. I feel bliss. In those moments, all is right with the world.”

Eissa was only seven months old when his parents divorced and were caught in the middle of a custody battle. At that time, Janet did not choose to seek help from a nanny and instead had her mother’s extra hand in raising Eissa. She said:

“My mother did it. Her mother did it. Why can’t I? We’ll see. I’m sure I will need someone in the future, some help here and there, but I don’t have anyone [right now], and I love it.”

Being Eissa’s mother undoubtedly taught her a lot about patience and sacrifice. “He’s first and foremost in my life,” she continued. “I get up. I go to sleep – everything is about him. He comes first in my life.”

Although very rare, there are times when Jackson shares glimpses of her son online. Previously, the singer shared a group photo with her son and his classmates celebrating gifts from the children’s show “Paw Patrol.”

She shared another detail about her son while on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in 2020. Janet suggested that her little boy may follow in her footsteps as a musician.

Eissa was already showing signs of musical ability at age three. He plays the drums, violin, and cello. “He loves classical music,” she said. “He’s incredibly musical.” Eissa took cello lessons in 2020, making him exceptionally talented today.

His passion for clothing styles began as a teenager. At 14, Wissam applied in several Kings Road shops before getting hired for weekends. It also helps that his family was in the business, which Wissam eventually partook in.

He operates a $1 billion fashion brand empire, which includes retail holdings for Hermes, Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani, Alexander McQueen, Agent Provocateur, Stella McCartney, and Sonia Rykie.

In 2010, Wissam met Janet at a Dubai hotel opening, and a few years later, they tied the knot in secret. It wasn’t after a year that they revealed their marital status. However, their marriage did not last long, and after welcoming a son, the news of their separation emerged.

Randy alleged that her sister endured “verbal abuse” and felt like “a prisoner in her own home.” He added, as told by Yahoo, “Enough is enough. There’s a lot of pain. Janet’s been through a lot with her divorce […] It was quite an abusive situation. It came on later in the relationship.”

In June 2018, Janet made headlines for calling the police twice over the weekend to check on her son. Eissa was with his father, who reportedly scared the nanny with his aggressive behavior at that time, so she locked herself in the bathroom and called Janet.

Reports later stated that the truth was altered and that the misunderstanding between Wissam and the nanny was due to Wi-Fi availability. Neither Janet nor Wissam have spoken about the situation.
