Jim Carrey Is Alive Though Vanished from the Public Plans to Retire

In 2022, fans thought that celebrated actor Jim Carrey passed away after some media outlets spread false information about his demise. The actor is alive but plans to take a break from his Hollywood career.

Carrey, a two-time Golden Globe winner, began his career at a young age when he did stand-up routines while in school.

According to reports, at age 10, the Canadian-born actor and producer once sent his resume to “The Carol Burnett Show.” Even though he has a successful career, Carrey said he enjoys a private life and plans to retire from acting.

Carrey Left Fans Confused after a Death Hoax in 2022

In 2022, people thought Jim Carrey passed away after a rumor surfaced online that indicated the “In Living Color” actor had died. According to reports, the fake news circulated after some fans saw an advertisement claiming the actor’s heartbreaking death.

Some Twitter users didn’t take the information lightly; one fan got furious about the fake news and condemned the source. And then, a YouTube video with a misleading title fueled the fake news even more, but it turned out the video was about the death of Bob Saget, not Jim Carrey.

Still, fans were not pleased with the video; one Twitter user shared the post and tagged Youtube, demanding an explanation about why the video-sharing platform allowed misleading information on their outlet.

While many of Carrey’s relationships didn’t last, he welcomed his bundle of joy and only daughter Jane Erin Carrey with his first wife, Wormer.

Even though the fake ad claimed Jim Carrey passed away, there has never been proof of the actor’s demise or his suffering from ill health.

But Jim Carrey Admittedly Battled Mental Health Issues & Overcame Them

Although Carrey has never battled with any severe sickness, in 2017, he admitted to struggling with depression and said that he had accepted everything that happened. In an interview, the “Dumb and Dumber” actor stated he had struggled with mental illness for a few years but had overcome it.

Even though Carrey is a celebrated Hollywood actor, his career path hasn’t been a bed of roses. The actor once went through a lot of stress after facing a lawsuit from the mother and husband of his late ex-girlfriend Cathriona White.

Carrey got accused of supplying the prescription drugs that White took before taking her own life in 2015. But, while speaking about battling mental illness, he didn’t directly talk about that issue; he mainly focused on his life experiences and said that he had learned a lot from them and was at peace with everything that had happened.

Jim Carrey Has Had Enough of His Career & Now Values Quiet Life

In 2022, Carrey was “fairly serious” when he talked about his plan to retire from acting. While promoting his new movie “Sonic the Hedgehog 2,” the actor/comedian said he was planning to take a break from his career.

He stressed his point about retiring and jokingly said that unless he got a script written in gold ink from the angels that said it was important for people to see, then he might reconsider. In an interview, Carrey said:

“This is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists — I have enough. I’ve done enough. I am enough.”

The actor said he liked his quiet and spiritual life and had already found a new passion for painting on canvas. The MTV Generation Award winner also spoke about his special bond with his grandson.

Jim Carrey Apparently Remains Single while He Fathers Only Child

Even though Carrey now prefers to live a quiet life, he has dated high-profile celebrities, such as Linda Ronstadt, January Jones, Anine Bing, among others. However, his love life came to a standstill after his breakups, especially the last one with actress Ginger Gonzales.

Though he’s now single, Carrey has been married twice. His first marriage was to “Man on the Moon” actress Melissa Womer from 1987 to 1995; the two share a daughter.

After divorcing Womer, he tied the knot with Lauren Holly in 1996, but they separated a year later. After his second divorce, Carrey began dating actress Renee Zellweger after the two met on the set of the 2000 comedy film “Me, Myself & Irene.”

According to reports, the duo got engaged from 1999 to 2000 but never walked down the aisle. Twenty years later, during an interview with radio presenter Howard Stern, Carrey spoke about his relationship with Zellweger and referred to her as the love of his life.

Other people the actor has been rumored to be in a relationship with include Jenny McCarthy, Anchal Joseph, Anastasia Vitkina, and the late Cathriona White, whom he dated from 2012 until her demise in 2015.

While many of Carrey’s relationships didn’t last, he welcomed his bundle of joy and only daughter Jane Erin Carrey with his first wife, Wormer. Jane, born on September 6, 1987, also followed in her parent’s footsteps and ventured into the entertainment industry.

She didn’t specialize in acting but became a musician and now owns her band. Besides having famous parents, Jane has made a name for herself; in 2012, she appeared on the “American Idol.” In 2010, Carrey became a grandfather after Jane gave birth to her son, Jackson Riley Santana.
