Jo Koy appeared carefree following backlash to his Taylor Swift joke at the Golden Globes 2024.

The “Easter Sunday” star flashed a smile at paparazzi as he was photographed walking to his car in Los Angeles Monday.

The comedian was also spotted grinning as he stopped to take a phone call.

Koy, 52, sported a laidback ensemble for his daytime outing, opting for a gray shirt jacket with a green LA T-shirt and sweatpants.

He completed the casual fit with a black hat and Adidas sneakers.

Koy’s relaxed appearance came less than 24 hours after he was heavily criticized for his quip about the “Blank Space” singer, 34, during his opening monologue at Sunday’s awards ceremony.

“As you know, we came on after a football doubleheader,” he began.

“The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift, I swear.”

The “Easter Sunday” star joked that the Golden Globes broadcast has “fewer camera shots” of the singer than the NFL. CBS

Koy’s joke — which referred to the NFL’s numerous Swift cutaways during her boyfriend Travis Kelce‘s game — fell short with both the audience and the pop star herself.

In response, the “Look What You Made Me Do” songstress held a stone-cold glare as she sipped from a champagne flute.

While some on social media called the “Chelsea Lately” alum’s joke a “low blow,” others pointed out Swift’s fiery gaze.

“If Taylor Swift death stares could actually kill, Jo Koy would now be deceased,” tweeted Piers Morgan.

“Days Of Our Lives” star Deidre Hall also took to social media to call Koy’s monologue a “complete embarrassment.”

However, the “View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg defended Koy, explaining that awards shows are “brutal” for comedians.

Speaking out following the criticism, Koy admitted on Monday’s “GMA3” that his Swift joke fell “a little flat.”

“It was a weird joke, I guess,” he shared, adding that he had an “off night.”

“I was trying to make fun of the NFL using cutaways and how the Globes didn’t have to do that. So it was more of a jab toward the NFL. But it just didn’t come out that way,” he explained.

As for how he was taking all of the backlash, Koy admitted he would “be lying” if he said “it doesn’t hurt.”
