Jordan is playing for the Golden State Warriors, the same team as Stephen Curry. Jordan has been dubbed as Curry’s successor, with fans expecting him to continue the winning streak Curry helped start. Fans have high hopes Jordan will take the team to even greater heights.

Jordan Poole’s Parents Are Always in the Front Row

Jordan Poole was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 19, 1999, to his mother, Monet, and father, Anthony Poole. The NBA rookie has two siblings.

As Jordan continues to make his mark in the NBA, his proud parents, Anthony and Monet, have nothing but nice things to say about their son’s progress in the prestigious basketball league. Anthony said of his son:

“I always knew he was going to be here. I always knew, someway, somehow, that he was going to be here.”

The couple stated that their son’s interest in the sport has remained consistent since high school. Jordan was a perfectionist, Anthony recalled, and would spend the entire day in the gym honing his skills.

Jordan knew precisely where he was going: straight to the NBA. Monet recalled what their son told them, “The only way I won’t get drafted is if I go into these workouts blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back.”

Anthony added that earlier in the day, his son expressed interest in playing for Golden State Warriors. Eventually, the dream came true, and Jordan is now the team’s point guard after being drafted in 2019.

She is now a social worker and case manager at the Eisenhower Center. According to Jordan, his mother was an athlete in high school.

Jordan Poole’s Father Is a Former Coach

Anthony was a big reason his son became a successful professional basketball player. In his youth, Anthony excelled in multiple sports at Chicago’s prestigious Simeon Career Academy.

He started playing football at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. When he moved to Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, with his wife, Anthony began playing basketball at a local Lutheran church gym.

Following that, Anthony founded the Wisconsin Playground Warriors, a basketball team nationally recognized by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). While Jordan was on the team, he served as a coach.

Anthony knew from the start that his son had what it takes to be a good basketball player. Under his supervision, he taught Jordan the basics, which included shooting the ball from ten locations in the gym.

Young Jordan enjoyed the whole process, which helped him perfect his shooting technique. Because he was so good at the sport, he could even play with the adults.

However, Jordan would sometimes find it challenging to deal with the grown-ups on the court because of their aggressive attitude. He almost felt like complaining. He even wondered if he was meant to play the sport in the first place.

But Anthony advised Jordan that he shouldn’t let anyone tell him what he could and couldn’t do if he thought he was doing the right thing. He also said that Jordan could question authority as long as he does it respectfully.

Jordan has instilled all of his father’s teachings since that time, including the most efficient basketball shooting techniques and the value of maintaining a respectful attitude and having a strong work ethic on the court.

Although Anthony has retired from coaching, another coach, Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors, was impressed with his son’s professionalism. Kerr praised Jordan’s work ethic and commitment to the game.
