In an August 2023 Instagram update, Kathy Ireland celebrated her 35th wedding anniversary with her husband, Greg Olsen. The businesswoman gushed about her husband, writing that every day with him was an adventure.

A woman of faith, Kathy Ireland felt grateful to God for bringing her and Greg Olsen together and being the center of their marriage. She penned her heartwarming tribute alongside an old photo of herself and her husband, smiling for the camera as they leaned on one another.

“Lots and lots of people have come and gone across my horizon, but you came and never left…and sowed a garden of joy and beauty around my life that continues to expand and flourish! I love you!” Olsen sweetly responded in the comment section.

The father of three doesn’t appear to have a personal account, but he replied to his wife’s message from his business page. He may not have any history in show business like Ireland, but he, too, has lived a colorful life.

Kathy Ireland’s Husband: Greg Olsen’s Journey in Medicine

After graduating high school, Olsen enrolled at Santa Barbara College and found residence at a cottage near the beach. His morning routine included 5 a.m. visits to the ocean, sometimes leading to surfing.

If he didn’t surf, he’d go back home and study. Eventually, he realized he wanted to be a doctor, so he transferred to the University of California Santa Cruz. He thoroughly enjoyed being at UC. “It also really appealed that it was a rocking surf town,” he said.

The institution didn’t issue grades, so it took a while for Olsen to get accepted into a medical school. He was about to leave for Central America, having given up, when he received an acceptance letter from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Greg Olsen’s Unending Venture into the Sea

Olsen began practicing in Santa Barbara after graduating from medical school as an ER doctor, and after his first day of work, he knew he wanted to do that for the rest of his life. However, he felt the same about spending time surrounded by the ocean.

In 2007, he acquired a commercial lobster fishing license and took recreational fishing to the next level, turning it into a booming enterprise. Olsen learned how to weld himself, built his lobster traps, and founded his business operation the same year.
