Katrina Greenwood is not Hugo Weaving’s wife; however, the pair have been together for almost four decades. They are parents of two children who have followed in their footsteps in art and film.

Hugo Weaving’s catalog of major roles began when he played Douglas Jardine in the TV series, “Bodyline” in 1984. He became a trendy actor in the 2000s, landing prominent roles in the first three editions of “The Matrix” and establishing himself as a mainstay in “The Lord of the Rings” franchise.

The Australian actor has had significant success in film, and equal success in his love life, forging a unique relationship with his partner of 39 years, Katrina Greenwood. Hugo and Katrina share two children who have taken up careers in art and film, just like their parents.

Hugo Weaving Knew Katrina Greenwood since Early Childhood but Fell in Love with Her Only Years Later

Hugo was just four years old in 1964 when he met Katrina, the future love of his life. At the time, he lived in Wahroonga, a suburb in the upper north shore of the New South Wales capital, Sydney.

Katrina was a close neighbor of the “The Lord of the Rings” star and lived directly across the street from him and his family. Hugo, his brother, Katrina, and her sister were friends during childhood.

They remained friends, but Hugo divulged that he got to know her better when he was a second-year student at the National Insitute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, Australia. Again, Hugo and Katrina’s friendship morphed into a foursome as they both lived with their romantic counterparts in the Darlinghurst share house on the campus across the road from the University of South Wales.

During their time at NIDA, Hugo, Katrina, and their partners became good friends. Shortly after, Katrina and her boyfriend relocated to Brighton, England, where they furthered their studies in art. Although the actor admitted to always considering her attractive, their romantic relationship only caught a light when she returned from England.

Hugo realized he had feelings for Katrina when she returned from England. Luckily, they were both single at the time and free from the recurring foursome friend groups that hindered their relationship’s development for years. The pair quickly fell into a deep love affair, bonding over creativity and love for art in their 20s.

In 1995, 11 years into their relationship, Katrina made a single movie appearance that she hasn’t followed up on since. She was cast as Yuppie Woman in the short drama “Audacious” written and directed by London-born filmmaker Samantha Lang.

Aside from the relationship she’s forged with the actor, her education, and her single acting credit, Katrina’s life is reasonably private, and not much is known about her.

Hugo Weaving Has Been with Katrina for Almost Four Decades but Never Married Her

Katrina’s partner explained what attracts him to his lover of multiple decades, revealing that she has a minimalistic aesthetic about her that he adores.

The actor considers Katrina a marvelous cook who has taught him a fair bit about meal preparation in correlation to art. Not only are they into cooking delicious meals, but they also enjoy growing their food independently.

Despite the longevity of Hugo’s relationship with Katrina, the actor revealed he does not plan on marrying the artist. “You do, or you don’t know whether your relationship is solid,” he said during a Stellar Magazine interview. Hugo added that marriage is not a stamp of approval for solid relationships, as there might still be a need to work on the relationship.

The actor and his artist-partner have a reasonably intimate relationship and do not own social media accounts. The “Lord of the Rings” star, who does not consider himself part of or associated with the “celebrity” world, enjoys spending time with his partner planting native trees in Australia.

Harry, 34, followed in his father’s footsteps, establishing himself as a prized actor. He won the Best Young Talent Award at the Tropfest in 2006 and the Rising Star Award at the 2018 Casting Guild of Australia Awards.

His most notable movie credits include “Hacksaw Ridge,” which stars Lynn & Richard Garfield’s son Andrew Garfield, “The Nightingale” starring Irish actress Aisling Franciosi, and the short drama “Pacific” starring Kate Crawford and Kieran Darcy-Smith. He also featured in three episodes of “Pieces of Her,” starring Arlo Galafassi and Sage Galafassi’s mother, Toni Collette.

Just like his movie star father, Harry graduated from NIDA in 2012. When asked about the time he worked alongside Hugo in “Hacksaw Ridge” without appearing together in a scene, the 34-year-old mentioned they might have a collaboration in the works.

Harry was advised to become an actor by his father but feels he turned out to be a different performer than the star from “The Matrix.” “Although we are very different people and very different actors, I think I am more like my mum,” he concluded.

Harry’s sister is undoubtedly more like their mother, as she turned out to be an artist like Katrina. Born in 1994, five years after Katrina’s son, Holly Greenwood, she became an exquisite artist whose work is exhibited at the Olsen Gallery in Sydney and the James Makin Gallery in Melbourne.

Holly’s Instagram account is followed by more than 6,200 users and showcases many otherworldy oil paintings and pictures of herself with family and friends. She has also featured her work on the second episode of ABC iview’s “Art Works” hosted by Namila Benson.

Actor Sean Murray of “NCIS” is also a parent of two. He welcomed his daughter Caitlyn Melissa in 2007 and his son River in 2010. Sean comes from a complex family that boasts a few actors and filmmakers, including his stepfather Donald P. Bellisario.
