Initially, the hostess anticipated she and Rogers would only become friends due to their age gap, but they later fell in love. She was attracted to his zest for life and his overwhelming optimism, and soon enough, they were ready to make it official.

A few years later, in 1997, the duo tied the knot, and seven years later, in 2004, the couple welcomed their twin sons, Justin and Jordan. Rogers and Miller’s last day together was spent cozying up at home, eating the singer’s favorite dessert, vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce, and watching movies.

Before the musician passed on, he made a special request from his fifth one, and years after his death, she finally lived up to it. The former hostess struggled with the loss for a while before the emptiness finally filled.

Before Rogers died at age 81 on March 2020, he’d spent the years before feeling sickly. In a tweet, his family announced his passing the day after his death and revealed it happened at 10:25 p.m., with him going peacefully from natural causes at home surrounded by loved ones while under hospice care.

While battling his illnesses, he contemplated the future, and one day while enjoying one of his beloved pass times, watching television, he suddenly paused what he and his wife were viewing. Miller knew what he wanted to say was necessary, and in July 2023, the 56-year-old woman revealed that his words were hard to hear.

The country musician noted how he wouldn’t live forever before sharing how he wished for her to be happy. The artist told his wife she was young and wanted her to live a full life after he was gone.

Miller was shocked and told him she didn’t want to have that conversation before demanding her unpause the television. The fact was that Rogers was giving her the go-ahead to fall in love again when he was gone.

In hindsight, his wife noted how having him pass on at home comforted her. She still got emotional reading the journal entries she made that day to preserve each detail of their last moment together, watching films and eating ice cream.

The following morning after their father’s death, Justin, now 19, shared how losing Rogers at home meant his “sweet spirit” would be there forever. Miller supported the notion and agreed, but she and her sons haven’t stopped sharing memories and stories about the late star.
