On June 19, 2022, Lara took to her Instagram to celebrate father’s day as she shared an old image of her and Bob. In her caption, she wrote:

“My dad wasn’t just my dad, he was my best friend. He wore his heart. He didn’t hide it; he wasn’t afraid of love. My dad simply wanted to share laughter and love with this world. I have noticed how scary it can be to love that big, to open so fully.”

Lara, who had previously revealed that Bob loved with everything he had despite being scared, said she knew it was her responsibility to give herself love and share it by living in love.

Before Bob unexpectedly died on January 9, 2022, at 65, he was known for being a fierce champion of other comedians. In the 1990s, he was the king of television and hosted “America’s Funniest Home Videos” for most of the decade.

His “Full House” role gave him the nickname “America’s Dad.” However, despite his fame and successful career, his most important role was being a father to his three daughters.

Throughout his life, he publicly stated that his children were essential to his existence. In January 2016, while speaking about his daughters, he said:

“They are the light of my life. I am a fortunate man in that all three of my daughters are exceptional. Very high beings, very smart people, very wonderful and very brilliant, very beautiful. They’re all artists.”

Shortly after Bob’s death, Lara and her family filed a lawsuit against the medical examiner’s office and the Orange County sheriff to prevent the release of records that may contain audio, photos, and video recordings related to his death.

After filing the suit, Lara took to her Instagram to ask his fans for privacy as she mourned her dad. She said:

“If only people knew how much words and actions matter, how much love and respect mean, how important it is to be kind, honest, and respectful, how poisonous gossip is, how important privacy is to grieve, how we are all responsible. Love will win regardless.”

Lara continued that she was sad to see people place their focus on pain, drama, gossip, and negativity, but she prayed for them to find clarity, learn to love themselves, and honor others on the planet.

WHAT DOES LARA MELANIE SAGET DO?

Lara is an artist with two bachelor’s degrees from Barnard College and Columbia University and a master’s degree from New York University. According to her website, her work makes materially visible the limitations of logic.

She believes that not all facts are absolute as they are placeholders for future facts. As one digs deeper, reality becomes exponential because the truth is infinite and bigger than the brain can ever comprehend.

Lara further said that while teaching yoga on zoom during the pandemic, she saw changes in people that blew her mind and the love she has allowed it.
