Now, the last photo of Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son, Suleman, has been released. In the image, the men stood arm in arm in preparation for the massive adventure they were about to embark on.

Shahzada’s wife, Christine, shared how her husband and son had spent their last moments together. Christine said her son and husband had spent their final moments in absolute darkness to conserve energy and listened to their favorite music as they looked at bioluminescent sea creatures.

Christine also described that she and her daughter had been aboard Titan’s mothership, Polar Prince, and had waved the men off. Before they boarded the Titan, Shahzada, and Suleman stood side by side in their protective gear, smiling at the camera. The photo was taken moments before they began the ill-fated trip.

Shahzada and Suleman Passed Away Hand-In-Hand

Shahzada and Suleman’s family shared their thoughts on the men passing and the fact that they were together when it happened. The Dawood family shared that the father and son had an incredible bond and said:

“In this unfathomable tragedy, we try to find solace in the enduring legacy of humility and humanity that they have left behind and find comfort in the belief that they passed on to the next leg of their spiritual journey hand-in-hand, father and son.”

The family continued by saying the pair were each other’s biggest supporters through everything. The men were also said to have a keen desire for adventure and bonded over their love for exploration and the unknown.

Suleman’s aunt alleged that the young man had been nervous about going on the trip but went along to please his father. Shahzada’s older sister said her brother was obsessed with the Titanic but that she wouldn’t travel to the wreck for any amount of money.

Tributes for the father and son, as well as the three other men aboard the ship, have been pouring in since the news broke that all five of the men were presumed dead after the submersible imploded.
